Faith-Lift Friday (8/31/07)

Encourage others and yourself! Share a scripture, quote, devotional, lyrics, or anything that has blessed you and strengthened you in your faith.Don't forget to grab the button and to link back to Sheryl's post.

I read somthing this week that has just stuck in my mind so I thought I would share it with you all today. This came right from Wednesday August 29th passage from My Utmost For His Highest

August 29, 2007
The Unsurpassed Intimacy of Tested Faith

Jesus said to her, ’Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?’ —John 11:40

Every time you venture out in your life of faith, you will find something in your circumstances that, from a commonsense standpoint, will flatly contradict your faith. But common sense is not faith, and faith is not common sense. In fact, they are as different as the natural life and the spiritual. Can you trust Jesus Christ where your common sense cannot trust Him? Can you venture out with courage on the words of Jesus Christ, while the realities of your commonsense life continue to shout, "It’s all a lie"? When you are on the mountaintop, it’s easy to say, "Oh yes, I believe God can do it," but you have to come down from the mountain to the demon-possessed valley and face the realities that scoff at your Mount-of-Transfiguration belief (see Luke 9:28-42 ). Every time my theology becomes clear to my own mind, I encounter something that contradicts it. As soon as I say, "I believe ’God shall supply all [my] need,’ " the testing of my faith begins ( Philippians 4:19 ). When my strength runs dry and my vision is blinded, will I endure this trial of my faith victoriously or will I turn back in defeat?
Faith must be tested, because it can only become your intimate possession through conflict. What is challenging your faith right now? The test will either prove your faith right, or it will kill it. Jesus said, "Blessed is he who is not offended because of Me"
Matthew 11:6 ). The ultimate thing is confidence in Jesus. "We have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end . . ." ( Hebrews 3:14 ). Believe steadfastly on Him and everything that challenges you will strengthen your faith. There is continual testing in the life of faith up to the point of our physical death, which is the last great test. Faith is absolute trust in God— trust that could never imagine that He would forsake us (see Hebrews 13:5-6 ).

Just thought I would share this all with you this Friday..

summer time at the movies.

Think I'll stick with the summer time theme today, seeing how I did summer time fun pictures for WW yesterday. The kids are back in school, but I'm no where ready to say goodbye to summer. It makes me sad I wish the kid had another month off.
Besides swimming, camping, baseball, softball, t-ball and all the other out in the sun summer time fun.. one of the other things we love to do is go to the drive in and watch a movie.
In June and July it seemed like I was packing up the kids just about weekly and heading to the movies.. Grab a blanket and a pillow, load up an ice chest and pop some popcorn grab a few camping chairs and order and pick up a pizza on the way and you are all set for a fun filled night out under the stars.. or if it was too hot or cold climb into the van and stay warm or cool off.
I went alone with Just me and Princess, We went as a family, I went alone just me and the 3 younger kids, and there was time the kids took friends with them. and One night after a t-ball game I even went with a big group of moms and kids.. it is a blast.
I have had these pictures in my blog since July.. they were taken back in June and July. I just never got around to blogging about it.. I'm so far behind on pictures and stuff that I wanted to share..

So much to blog so little time.
School has started back this week.. you think I would find more computer time.. but so far this week I have got less. LOL..
One of these days I'll post about the 1st days of school.. but it won't be today ;P
Happy Thursday Everyone.

Time Travel Tuesday

This week for Time Travel Tuesday Annie over at My Life as Annie wants to know about how we found out that we were PG. I did a mothers meme a while ago that asked about this sort of stuff. There was 5 questions in there that I thought I would use to do this weeks Time Travel.
Lets start at the beginning.. with baby #1 Princess.
This is Princess's ultra sound picture, can you tell she was sucking her thumb?
1. WAS YOUR FIRST PREGNANCY PLANNED? No
2. WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? very excited because just a month before I found out I was PG I was told by my gyn. That It would be very hard for me to get PG that was if I could get PG at all.
3. HOW OLD WERE YOU? 22 1/2 when I found out I was PG 23 and so many months when I had her
4. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? I took a fact plus home test and got a T not a + or a - but a T, being young and dumb I thought that meant not PG so I went on fora few week thinking I wasn't until I started to puke my guts out all day long for a week then I went to the doctor who told me just 4 weeks before that, that I couldn't get PG, he did a test and sure enough I was 8 weeks along.
5. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? Well DH was with me so I didn't have to tell him, but as soon as we got home from the doctor we called my parents(they sort of knew since I was on vacation with them the week before when I was barfing all over the place) Then we called his parents, once we were done we called my grandparents from my dad side, then my grandparents from my moms side.. and I let them spread the news to everyone and I went and took a nap. Yes I told everyone the same day I found out.
Baby #2 Mr Man:Here is Mr Man's ultrasound picture
1) WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED? Yes.. After having Princess I wanted my kids two years apart. God had other plans. We TTC for a year with no luck at all, that is when I saw my doctor and ended up needing to go on fertility pills and I was on those for a year before I got PG. So baby #1 and baby #2 ended up almost 4 years apart.
2) WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? Complete Joy.. because the month I got PG with him, the doctor told me this was the last time I could use these pills and if it didn't work I would have to go to a different doctor, This was something I wasn't willing to do, I was done. After 2 years of not getting PG month after month I gave up.. I made peace that it was just going to be DH, me and Princess and that was going to be our family because I wasn't putting myself though anymore treatment. and then boom I got PG.. So I was on cloud 9 make that 11 LOL..
3) HOW OLD WERE YOU? I was 26 years old when I got PG and turned 27 6 days before he was born.
4) HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? Like I mentioned I was taking fertility pills each month and along with this I was having to have blood work done every month also to let me know if I ovulated or not. month after month it kept coming back saying NO I did not O. This month it came back saying YES I did so I woke DH up as soon as I got the call(he was working nights at the time and sleeping during the day) and then two weeks later I took a HPT(home PG test) My heart couldn't deal with another negative test.. so I took the test and left the room and DH had to be the one to read the results for me. He knew not to joke about the results.. I mean after two years and the last year being moody and on drugs.. you just didn't mess with a women like that. So when he came out smiled and told me it was positive.. I just sat on the floor and cried and cried and couldn't stop crying..

5) WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? We tested on a Sunday morning.. We got to church and told everyone I saw. I honestly don't remember who was 1st.. Everyone knew the trouble I was having and what I was going though.. I remember waiting at the door of the church for my parents to walk in and yelling to them before they even got there that I was PG..

Baby #3 Sweet Pea:Sweet Pea's Ultra sound picture
1) WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED? NO.
2) WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? Shock.. after having Mr Man the doctor told me that I wouldn't be able to get PG without the help of fertility pills.. Well here we were 18 months later and Guess What Doctor was wrong.
3) HOW OLD WERE YOU? 28 when I got PG and was 29 when she was born.
4) HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? Well aunt flow was never normal for me so I had missed a few months of her and so that didn't tip me off at all. But I was feeling so sick.. It was VBS week at our church and I was teaching and I just felt awful. I thought I had some sort of summer flu. The next week Princess had safety town and I was getting her up and dressed for that and I was in the bathroom once again bent over the thrown losing breakfast.. Princess walked in and asked "When is the baby coming mom?" My sister just had a baby two weeks before this so I thought she was talking about that.. but wasn't sure so I asked her "what baby?" and she said "the one in your tummy." my mouth dropped open and I said "what makes you think I have a baby in my belly" she answered "because your sick just like your were with Mr Man" then a big light bulb came on. So I dropped her off and went to the store and bought a test sure enough I was PG.
5) WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? DH. he was sleeping at the time but I walked in and woke him up and said "you are not going to believe this, I'm PG.

Baby #4 Alyssa
Alyssa's ultra sound picture.. Though this isn't a very good shot.. I didn't have hers online so I took a picture of it with my cell phone and put it into my blog.
1) WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED? NO
2) WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? I think I had a panic attack. I wasn't going to have any more kids and couldn't figure out how I would care for 4 or where would I put 4 kids in our house.
3) HOW OLD WERE YOU? 31
4) HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? I had just got AF back about 2 months before this(getting it back from having Sweet Pea) then I missed a month, then the next month I just spotted for 3 days and I counted that as AF. ONLY I started feeling tired and moody and sick.. So I bought a HPT. I took it and got a negative.. So I waited a week and was still feeling just awful so I bought another on a Saturday night.. Thought i would take it Sunday morning Only I couldn't sleep so at 6AM I got up and took it It was positive..
5) WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? My cyber friends.. I didn't want to wake DH Up he wasn't feeling that great and wasn't sleeping well and he was sleeping so I wanted to let him sleep. So I got online and posted with my cyber friends.. about 8am and couldn't take it any longer so I woke DH up and told him.
Baby #5 Little Man:Little Man's ultrasound picture he was blowing bubbles
This is another ultra sound picture of him.. boy did I love the 3D ones.

1) WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED? yes. After losing Alyssa a few months later we knew that we wanted another baby.
2) WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? I was scared.. really happy but really scared that something would go wrong and that I would lose him
3) HOW OLD WERE YOU? 31 when I got PG and 32 when I had him.
4) HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? Since we were planning him I knew what cycle day I was on and once I missed AF I tested
5) WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? DH right after I tested. and the doctor like two minutes after I tested.. because I was scared I wanted all my blood work test done right then and there and I wanted them checking the numbers every 24 to 48 hours.. good think I had them do that also because by my 3rd blood drawl my progesterone levels were dangerously low and I needed to start progesterone.

Well there you have it.. The time travel for the 5 days I found out I was PG.

Check out Annies blog for more Time travelers.

What do you think of this mom?

My kids got back from TX today.. Boy did I miss them. While in TX Princess did some shopping. She spent a good long time in her room putting all her cloths away and trying to make up her mind what she wants to where to school tomorrow.. Tomorrow being the 1st day of school. She came out and asked.. What do you think of this one mom?
Ok Well lets take a look at this out fit and see if it will work for the 1st day in the 6th grade. The shirt looks good to me. Oh my goodness, I love these shorts.. You have some great taste there Princess.
I'm thinking this is a good outfit for ya baby.
OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH NO NO NO... what is this?????
LOL LOL LOL... Well honey.. I love these shoes(and BTW I can wear them even though they are just a tad big on me) They are extremely cute.. and if you were going to church sure wear your new cute shoes you just bought.. BUT unless you want to break your neck running up and down the stairs at school with hundreds of kids pushing you though the hall way.. These shoes just won't do. The rest of the outfit is cute though.. To be honest I don't know what the girl has laid out for the 1st day of school she bought so many things, Plus my grandma got her a ton of stuff and my mom got her a ton of stuff.. she can go months and not wear the same thing twice.
So this may or may not be the outfit you see in the 1st day of school pictures I'll be posting.
But she looked cute so like all good mommy bloggers I had to grab the camera and blog about it.

garage sale

A few weeks back my grandma had a garage sale. My kids thought this was a wonderful thing, as they had the chance to sell old stuff and keep the money for whatever they wanted.
Mr Man and Sweet Pea also thought they would try to make a little extra cash by selling cans of pop to the thirsty people out making there rounds at the garage sale.
Here is Mr Man waiting to sell someone a pop.

Here is Sweet Pea drinking said pop. LOLLittle Man thought he was at a big toy store as he just ran around yelling MINE and playing with all the old stuff I was trying to sell.

But Not Princess she knew this was no time for playing.. she was all about the business of selling old stuff to buy new stuff. She was our cashier and she did an excellent job at it.

Faith-Lift Friday(August 24, 2007)

Encourage others and yourself! Share a scripture, quote, devotional, lyrics, or anything that has blessed you and strengthened you in your faith.Don't forget to grab the button and to link back to Sheryl's post.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

While I was laying in bed Wednesday night trying to fall asleep, God put this verse into my heart When I was little we use to sing this verse as a song and I loved the song. I didn't forget about the verse but I had forgot about the song. Now I can't stop singing it. I can't wait for my kids to get home so I can teach it to them.

What a wonderful promise we have here from God. When things seem to be to much and life seems hard we have This promise from God.

Isaiah 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Throwback Thursday. #2

This week for Throwback Thursday I'm going to keep with my same theme from this weeks Time Travel Tuesday.

When thinking about my Throwback Thursday post for today I remembered I had these pictures online(since I can't scan anything while my mom is out of town) So I'm going to share these with you today. This was my car after the accident the picture really doesn't show the damage that was done. the whole back end of the car was pushed under and in and made the car look like an accordion from the back all the way up to the doors.. It was a sweet little car too, but they totalled it after this.
This is me after the accident.. picture of beautie I know. LOL.. I mentioned I didn't want to wear this stuff to my wedding show.. Now you know why I took off the neck brace and stuff for the shower.. I can look back at those pictures now and unless I told you, no one would know that I was in pain. ;) I was hurting so bad the night after the shower too, just too much movement. (if you missed my post about this accident or the shower read it HERE)

These pictures were from August 1994

Middle Name Tag.

I’ve been tagged!! MomofThree has tagged me for the middle name meme.

Here are the rules:

*You have to post these rules before you give the facts.

*Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of their middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.

*When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts.

*At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

DH and I also took our honeymoon there, and we have taken our kids a few times also.

Now time for the tag, I don't think I can come up with 4 people which start with each letter of my name so I am going to follow Momof3's lead and choose bloggers with one of my middle name letters in their name, not necessarily the first letter though.

Wordless Wednesday(The kittens)

I mentioned a while ago that DH and the girls came home with two little kittens, what I don't recall is if I post that the very next week Mr Man came home with a kitten of his own. So here are the three little kittens. This is Candy and she is Princess's kitten.
This cute fluffy fellow is Tiger and he belongs to little Miss Sweet Pea.
Candy and Tiger are brother and sister and are now. 13 weeks old

This is the baby of the bunch. This is Kit-Kat and he is Mr Man's cat. Mr Man didn't think it was right that the girls got kittens and he didn't so now we have 3 kittens plus a 2 year old cat. Kit-Kat is 12 weeks old now.. We got all the kittens when they were 8 weeks old.
So I wasn't wordless today.. but still Happy Wordless Wednesday.

Take the 100 Acre Personality Quiz!
found this fun little quiz while over at There's more to this life. Fifi was pooh bear, I took the quiz and turns out I'm Kanga. Ok I'll agree with the 1st part but don't worry about misbehaving to much around me. I'm not a big fan of the time out! :P
Go ahead play along and let me know who you are.
