Time Travel Tuesday

Here is what Annie had for us today
"This week
we're traveling back to our most memorable Halloween. Did you dress up and go door to door growing up? What was your favorite costume?"

I don't know if I have one Halloween that just stands out as memorable more so then others.
Halloween 1974 I was almost two years old On Oct 31st. My mom dressed me up as a lion a homemade costume she made me and took me out trick or treating. She must have done way to much walking with me because she ended up in labor with my sister. On the next day November 1, 1974 I was no longer an only child I had a new baby sister.

Another one which I guess stands out is when I was in kindergarten, once again mom made my costume. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.. ONLY it was a little hard getting on and off the bus with it.. Here it is take a look. the year was 1978
Another fun Halloween was 1982.. My sister and I had our birthday party on Oct 31st. My sister's birthday as I said was November 1st and mine is November 9th. So we often shared birthday parties. This year we made our birthday a costume party. I'm went as strawberry shortcake this year. To answer more of the questions.. Yes I did dress up, but we could not dress up in anything scary or that wasn't very Christian like(using this wording because I don't want to end up with some weird people finding my blog while doing Google searches, this is also why I'm not going to give examples of what we couldn't dress as)
Yes we did go out door to door trick or treating. I'm not really sure what my favorite costume was. I went as a Lion, Casper
a princess,
a Bible, strawberry shortcake(which at the time I thought was my favorite outfit because it was my only store bought one) When I was a little older I went as an old women. This was my last year or trick or treating with my sister and brother and my mom.. I did go two times after I was a teen, with a group of kids. The 1st year I was in 7th grade and went as a punk rocker I guess.. I wore a funky skirt, leg warmers, and a mixed matched shirt and had hot pink hair. we only went down one road and that was the road the church was on because we were on our way to a costume party with our teen group. Then when I was a freshmen in high school me, my sister and my friend dressed up as the 3 blind mice hit a few roads and then went to a Halloween party at my boyfriend(at that time) church.

So there you have it my time travel for today..
Happy Tuesday everyone.

13 year anniversary and some updates.

Like I mentioned before today was our 13 year wedding anniversary. The picture you see above was DH and me on our 1st wedding anniversary Oct 29, 1995 We had saved the top of our wedding cake like one does and we ate it on our 1st anniversary. We thought we would feed it to each other while my mom took a picture.. we both had the same idea.. we did not plan this.. but we both smeared it in the others face.. like we were reading each others minds. You see.. I made him promise NOT to do this on our wedding day.. I spent too much time on my make up to have it messed up with cake.. and there was NO WAY I wanted cake on my dress.
Don't get me wrong I'm not a stick in the mud, I'm all for fun but not when I'm all dressed up LOL
What made me or him for that matter do this I don't know but it was funny.
We don't exchange gifts on our anniversary, we just never did. WE normally go out to dinner to celebrate. We had planned to go out this past Saturday after trick or treating with the kids in our parents town, but DH ended up having to work so we didn't go out. This evening DH surprised me though with flowers and a huge cookie

Other happening from today was pumpkin carving here is Mr Man and Sweet Pea showing off there art.

An update to my Sweet Pea is sad post. I called my sister in law who is one of the Sparks leader and told her what happened last night. So tonight she came over and let Sweet Pea say all her verses to her and signed all her pages so Sweet pea earned her jewel tonight. she is a very happy girl now and has already learned all the verses to get her 2nd jewel next week.. she has a goal and there is just no stopping her LOL

Well good night all
I'm off to bed

Do you smell that??

Well I don't yet, but I hope to. I just found this give away at Heather's that is super! She is giving away a Cinnamon Pumpkin candle , now is that yummy or what????

Sweet Pea is sad

Sweet Pea is in her bedroom crying right now.. She has been crying since we got home from church tonight. I tried to explain to her it is ok and we will have it taken care of next Sunday night but it doesn't matter to her.
You see she worked really hard all week long on learning all her verses to earn her 1st jewel in Awanas. This is her 1st year as a Spark, So this would be her 1st jewel. At the last awana's meeting she finished up the starting gate and this would have been the 1st week for her to work towards her jewels.. and saying a few verses just wasn't enough for her she wanted to say every one in that section to get her jewel. So she worked every day all day from the time she got home from school.. and she knew all of them. She was getting the book and chapters confused because she was saying so many.. but the verses she knew without missing a word..
When working on the verses with her.. I would tell her the book, chapter and verse then say the 1st word of the verse to help her not get them confused. and then she would say the whole verse to me. She was so happy that today she said all 6 verses like that to me, then had to show off for daddy and then grandma and grandpa and just everyone who would listen.. I would tell her the book, chapter and verse and give her the 1st word and she would say all her verses.
she was so excited for Awanas to night because she wanted to say all her verses and get her 1st jewel.
ONLY when it was over she was said and when we got home I asked all the kids if they said everything and she just broke out into tears and ran to her room.. I opened up her book and not a one of the pages were signed.
I jumped to the wrong conclusion.. Thinking Sweet Pea just got shy and wouldn't talk to her leader, she is my shy one and has been known to do that in the past This upset her even more and she tried to tell me she just forgot the verses.. so I had her say all of them to me again, like we normally do where I say the book, chapter and verse and the 1st word.. and she said each and every verse. So I said see you know them you didn't forget them.. so why.. and she stopped me and started crying harder and said.. I don't know them unless you say the 1st words and they won't do that for me. and then she was crying so hard that she couldn't stop..

Now I want to cry.. This is my fault.. it was the way I was teaching her these, and now she is heart broken and really really sad.

UPDATE to this post..
As I was typing this she came out and sat in my lap, hugging me with her head on my shoulder. It was at that point God reminded me, I was missing the point. Yes the jewels and rewards are fun.. but the Point is my sweet baby girl is hiding Gods Word in her heart. and that she has done.
I told her that it didn't matter that she didn't get her book signed tonight.. because mommy is still proud of her for working so hard this week.. and more importantly.. She has made Jesus happy because she has obeyed him and hid His Word in her heart..

I'm doing something I never do.. I'm asking for your Vote..

Last night at almost midnight I stumbled upon a fall/Halloween photo contest for the cutest photo.. This contest entry date was yesterday so I was able to enter it with in an hour of it closing..

Hey what are you still doing here, Go vote for my cutie (KC's cutie)

Thanks Guys, for your vote..

What Temperment Are You

Found this fun little quiz over at Karen's Ramblings So I thought I would play along.

You Have a Phlegmatic Temperament

Mild mannered and laid back, you take life at a slow pace.
You are very consistent - both in emotions and actions.
You tend to absorb set backs easily. You are cool and collected.

It is difficult to offend you. You can remain composed and unemotional.
You are a great friend and lover. You don't demand much of others.
While you are quiet, you have a subtle wit that your friends know well.

At your worst, you are lazy and unwilling to work at anything.
You often get stuck in a rut, without aspirations or dreams.
You can get too dependent on others, setting yourself up for abandonment.

And since I was at the quiz site I figured I would try a few Halloween ones. Here they are
What Your Halloween Habits Say About You

You're a friendly person, but not the life of the party. You like making someone else's day - and you'll dress up if you think of a really fun costume.

Sneaky and devious, people should really watch out for you. You are usually underestimated and forgotten.

Your inner child is stubborn and a bit bossy.

You fear those closest to you finding out who you really are. You dread people discovering your secrets.

You're logical, rational, and not easily effected. Not a lot scares you... especially when it comes to the paranormal.

You are picky and high maintenance. If you wear a Halloween costume, it's only when you really feel like it. And it has to be perfect.

Gummy Bears

You may be smooshie and taste unnatural, but you're so darn cute.

You Are

An Angry Pumpkin Face

You would make a good smashed pumpkin.

You Are Warm Nights by the Fire

Peaceful and romantic. The best part of fall.

Well I'm all quizzed out, as I'm sure your tired of reading them.

Have a great weekend.

Fall/Halloween Photo Contest

Stacie over at The Twinkies is having a Fall/Halloween photo contest. Check it out.

Part 4 Of my Time Travel Tuesday for this week.

My Time Travel Tuesday post for the week has turned into a 4 day project.. Never planed for that to happen.. OOPES..
You can read Part #1, Part #2 or Part #3 just by clicking on which ever part you want to read.

When I left off yesterday I had just got to the hospital, had an Ultra sound that showed a stone was caught in the common bile duct.
This was about 8 or 9pm on Saturday night. They admitted me and took me to my room where they did blood work after blood work after blood work and tried to get an IV into my arm only took them about 10 times and 4 different nurses..
To speed this story up ALOT.. I was on a clear liquid diet and alot of pain meds(though I was making sure I could still feed the baby my milk with each thing they gave me) It was Saturday night and they weren't going to do a thing for me except do blood work every 2 hours and keep me on IV pain killers.. besides being very sick from the stone blocking the common bile duct and messing up my liver function.. My heart was also breaking.. My month old baby who had just spent time in the children's hospital and who had never taken a bottle a day in his life.. was having to spend the night with his grandma.. He was nursing every two hours how was he going to do.. Thankfully I had been pumping a bottle of milk a day for him knowing that I was going to have to have surgery sometime after he was born. If that wasn't enough to break a new mama's heart.. My oldest who was only 9 years old at the time just had some what major surgery on two parts of her body the day before and was still in real bad pain on pain medication every 4 hours.. and she had to pretty much stay still as to not bump her hears and her whole head was bandaged up and her whole face was all black and blue.. she was sleeping most the time but as the pain medication wore off she would wake up crying her eyes out.. and Now here mommy wasn't even there to take care of her, she had to leave her house and go to her grandma's house. I tell ya I just cried and cried my eyes out Saturday night in that hospital bed.
Then just went down hill from there. Sunday morning my doctor comes in and tells me they will be doing surgery but the earliest they could do it would be on Tuesday for many reasons. One was I was too sick to be put under, my blood work numbers were all bad, My blood count was way too low(due to the C-sect 4 weeks before hand) and all the other numbers were a mess from me being so sick and puking my guts out for months and months and now with the bile being blocked my liver numbers were really bad also.. Another reason was they needed to do another test to see how badly blocked everything was.. and since it was a Sunday the person who did that test wasn't there, they could have called him in but the silly little small town hospital was out of the radiation medication that I had to drink to have the test done. So I spent Sunday, Fathers Day Sunday in the hospital just being sick, and still having the gall bladder attack still on heavy pain meds and just so heartbroken feeling like such an awful mother leaving my newborn who had never been away from me ever and never had a bottle before and leaving my oldest still recovering herself. PLUS it was Fathers Day.. my kids and rest of the family had a nice Fathers day with my parents and grandparents.. and my mom brought the baby over to me in the afternoon and I was able to nurse him a little but I could hardly lift my head. But when it was time to go I didn't want to let go of my baby.. I just wanted to keep him in the hospital bed with me and never let him go.. So I spent Sunday night crying my eyes out again.. OH and did I mention I was also pumping every two hours and having the nurses store it for me so when my mom came by each day she could pick it up so that Little Man would have something to drink every two hours.
Monday morning came and I learned a whole new meaning of sick. I was on day 4 of this gall bladder attack I was getting worse not better and then there was Monday where I got radioactive medication put in me so they could track stuff inside of me.. I was puking neon green for the next 24 hours. Plus I was told I couldn't nurse Little Man that day and I had to pump and dump for the next 24 hours. OH Man I was so sore from pumping ever two hours that the thought of still having to pump but having to dump it put me into tears. But then seeing the funky color milk that was filling into those bottles made me know there was NO WAY I could give that to my baby. BUT what really hurt the most was that My mom didn't bring Little Man to see me that day. The hospital was an hour away and since she had came out the past two days and Monday I couldn't even nurse Little Man or give her milk that I had just pumped.. She didn't want to make the trip. I wasn't upset with my mom, I totally understood where she was coming from.. but it was so heartbreaking to be away from my 4 1/2 week old baby. DH did bring in the other 3 for me to see. He had to take Monday off work because Princess needed to go back to the children's hospital to have some bandages removed and some of the stitches taken out from her surgery she had on Friday. BUT when the kids were there I was so very sick and seeing me puke neon green scared them.. So he left and took them back to grandma's house.
Tuesday morning I had the 1st surgery.. the surgery to remove the stone from the common bile duct(which is something you have to do before removing the gallbladder) ONLY the small town hospital I was at didn't have a doctor who could do that so I had to take a nice little commute to the hospital in the town I live in to have this surgery,(LOL why you may as was I at this small town hospital when there is a hospital in my town.. The answer was all due to my O.B. who was no longer working out of my towns hospital.. since I found out about the gall bladder while PG. We had it planned before Little Man was born that when I had the Gall Bladder taken out that same day while I was still under My OB would tie my tubes so that is why I was at the small town hospital)
Anyways after getting to my towns hospital I was taken to the same day surgery gowned up and wheeled in for surgery.. don't remember alot after that of that day, Except I had to pump and dump for a couple of hours afterwards. BUT my mom had brought Little Man to me Tuesday before the surgery so I was able to hold my baby, get my baby kisses and nurse him before I was put under.
OH did I mention that I was on a clear liquid diet this whole time, my last meal of real food was Friday night at dinner and this was Tuesday night.. I WAS SOOOOOOOOOOO HUNGRY.

Good news was on Wednesday afternoon they were going to remove my gall bladder.

Wednesday morning my mom came and I got to nurse Little Man and DH was there.. After I nursed him someone(don't remember if it was DH or mom) took Little Man to spend the day with my grandparents mom and DH was both back before the surgery.
BUT more bad news came, I was still way low on blood. So before the surgery I had to have a blood transfusion. they pumped in 2 1/2 big bags of blood.. and it was off to surgery.. both of my doctors came to see me. the surgeon who was doing the gall bladder, plus my OB who was doing my tubes. After that I don't remember anything except waking up a little hearing DH talking to the surgeon that everything went well. Then I remember being up a little more with my OB standing over me and him telling me there was a little bit of a problem during surgery.. That little problem was that they had poked a hole though my uterus. UGH.. but being in my space out state still not really with it, I just looked up and said "Oh well I don't plan on using it anymore" The OB just started cracking up.. I loved my OB.. he delivered each and everyone of my kids and was there along side of me holding my hand and crying his eyes out right along with me when I lost Alyssa.. He is no longer working around here(if at all as far as I know) I miss him.
Normally with tubes and Gallbladder it is same day surgery.. but Not for me.. I was still way to sick to go home.. So I spent the next two days healing and getting healthier in the hospital.

So I spent a week in the hospital away from my babies, all 4. By the time I got back home Little Man had forgot how to latch on to nurse we had one very painful week after that with cracked nipples and a baby who got use to sucking a bottle.. happily he got the hang of it again and my supply never went down at all. Also when I got home Princess had all her bandages off and her stitches removed(my mom and dad took her to do that the day I was being released from the hospital.

The good things were I was back with my family, I wasn't having gall bladder attacks, and with not getting to eat for a week and being sick and puking on top of it.. I had lost all the weight I gained while PG.

So that is the biggest illness I have ever been though..

Don't worry I'm sure Next week's time travel Tuesday post won't take 4 days to type out LOL.

have a great weekend ya'll

Faith-Lift Friday(Trick or Treat)

Encourage others and yourself! Share a scripture, quote, devotional, lyrics, or anything that has blessed you and strengthened you in your faith.Don't forget to grab the button and to link back to Sheryl's post

Today I thought I would share with you all the story I'm sharing with the kids in Jr church on Sunday. It is a lesson my grandma use to teach us when we were little.
It is called Tricks or Treats by Kate Oliver. The bottom of the page says September 1962.. So I guess Grandma could have read this to my dad and my uncle also. Grandma has been teaching Sunday school and Jr Church for some time now :) It is a Flash Card lesson but you all will be getting the lesson in the form of pictures of the flash cards. The 1st picture you see here is just something I thought I would toss in there not part of the flash cards. So sit back and enjoy the story

(I'm skipping the part that tells how Halloween came to be because it is too much typing and this will be long enough...)
In the United States of America, Halloween is a fun-night. The boys and girls dress up in costumes and go around to their neighbors' homes and try to fool them. They ring the doorbell, and when a neighbor comes to the door they shout "trick or treat!" The neighbor is all prepared for the game. He gives the boys and girls some candy, fruit or some other little treat, which they put in there "trick or treat bag," Then the children promise not to play tricks on the neighbor. It is all in fun, and the grownups usually enjoy it as much as the children.

Today I want to tell you about some tricks and treats we can learn about from the Bible. The Bible doesn't call them tricks and treats, but lets see if that isn't what they are.
On Halloween night the boys and girls wear masks and costumes, trying to fool people so they will not know who they are. This is all done in Fun.
But Satan really tricks people. And he also wants to disguise himself so you will not know who he is. That's one of his worst tricks, for then he can fool you. The Bible says he transforms, or changes himself into an angel of light(II Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.)
We don't know what Satan looks like, so we'll use this ugly old face because the things he does are so ugly and mean. But if Satan tempted us with mean things all the time, we'd be wise to him. So he makes himself seems like an angel of light and tries to make us think his ways are so good. The Bible also says Satan sends his prophets as wolves in sheep's clothing (Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.) These both mean he disguises himself.
He doesn't wear a mask but he sends people to tell us other ways are as good as God's or tell us God doesn't mean everything He says in the Bible. Or maybe he'll tell us there's no harm in doing certain things God doesn't want us to do because He knows they aren't good for us. Now such people may seem like pretty good folk, but they just don't know God and His ways so they think they know best.
Satan is always looking for some man or women, boy or girl he can fool and maybe keep from coming to the Lord Jesus to be saved, or get Christians to forget about God's Word and serving Him(I Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour) But God does not want us to be ignorant of Satan's tricks (II Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.) nor to run from Satan, also called the devil (Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.) So He tells us to put on, not a mask, but the whole armour of God that we may be able to stand Against Satan(Ephesians 6:13-17 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God) God offers this armour to all. We put it on by faith. First, we must take the helmet of salvation, the Lord Jesus Himself (Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.) In Him the whole armour is provided. When our hearts are cleansed by His blood, our minds are protected from the enemy.
We have the breastplate of righteousness. Righteousness is rightness doing and being right according to what God says is right. The Lord Jesus keeps our hearts from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness)
We have our loins girt about with truth. Our loins are the part of the body just above the hips. To gird means to put on a strong belt. This gave the warrior more strenght to stand in battle. The Lord Jesus is Truth (John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.)
Our feet have on the Gospel of peace that we may run quickly to others and tell them of the Lord Jesus that they may have peace (Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ)
The shield of faith is believing in, trusting the Lord Jesus who alone can stop the fiery darts of Satan.
Then we take the Spirit's sword, which is the Word of God, and we are ready for battle. This always works. Satan will run every time we use the sword of the Spirit, God's Word, on him (Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.)
When we receive the Lord Jesus Himself, we have the whole armour of God. The Lord Jesus is our salvation. He is truth. The Gospel of peace is the good news that He died on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day. It cost Him His life. He Gives it to you. When you receive Him by faith, then you may wear His armour.
If we have received the Lord Jesus as Saviour, we must use this whole armour, for even then Satan will try to trick us.
We have seen Satan's tricks, and now let us see the Lord Jesus Christ's Treats. For we must choose tricks or treats.
The Lord Jesus does not have to hide behind a mask. He does not want to fool us, because He has no tricks, only treats. He shows Himself plainly all though the Bible that He is God, God the Son.
The first treat He offers us is life, heavenly and eternal life (John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. )
It is a life to share with Him now and forever. We must receive this treat before we can have any other. This life is also our helmet of salvation, for we are saved from sin to eternal life.
Sometimes people give you treats that are not wrapped- Candy or cookies. You take these but you do not eat them when you get home because you do not trust them. But this treat, eternal life is wrapped up in the Lord Jesus, Himself. Except you receive Him into your heart (John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name) you cannot have any treats at all.
When you receive Him, He cleanses you from all sin and you receive eternal life (Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ephesians 1:7 in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace)
Then He wants to give you a treat that you can enjoy every day. It is power over sin.
What does this mean? It means you don't have to be naughty. It means that sin needs not rule your life every day. The Lord Himself wants to rule it. He does it though His Word and by His Holy Spirit.
God's Holy Spirit is a very special treat, for when you receive the Lord Jesus as Saviour His Holy Spirit comes to live in your heart to help you and guide you. As you read your Bible and pray each day, asking Him to lead you you will find other treats in your life, and these are treats you can pass on to others too.
The first is love. If you let Gods love work in your heart, you will love people(John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.) You won't hate even those who might be unkind to you.
For the next treat, which love will help you have is Forgiveness. Even as God forgave you , you will be able to forgive those who wrong you.
Then you can use another treat the Lord gives you. It's kindness. God is kind to us, and He helps us be kind to others(Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.) not cross and grouchy. You will want to put others first instead of yourself. You will follow the rule the Lord Jesus gave His disciples- do unto others as you would have them do unto you(Luke 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.)
This brings us to another treat Obedience. You will want to obey your parents and those who have authority over you, even if they not watching(Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.)
Also as you are honest and not deceitful, you will find life a real treat each day. People will trust you. It will be a life that will not only give you pleasure but you can bring pleasure to all those whom you meet each day. Most important of all, your life will bring glory and honor to the Lord Jesus.

Now you must choose. Do you want tricks or treats?

You cannot put on a mask and fool the Lord Jesus. He looks into your heart and sees every sin( Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God)
Satan wants to trick you into thinking you can keep your sin and go to heaven, too but you cannot. Jesus said "if you die in your sins, where I am ye cannot come"(John 8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.)
But Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; God says this is a true saying, and you should believe it (I Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.)

This is where I would give an Invitation.. So I will offer this invitation to my readers also. If you have never received the Lord Jesus as Saviour and would like to or have any questions please feel free to email me.

Happy Friday Everyone.

Part 3 Time Travel Tuesday for the week.

You can read part 2 Hereyesterday when I did the part two I got a little long winded.. So today I'll try to keep this short and sweet.

I went though the rest of my PG having gallbladder attacks daily, more then daily it was 3 to 10 attacks a day.. some lasting as little as 5 minutes some lasting 2 1/2 hours. I was given a mild pain killer to help with the big long attacks but with being PG it wasn't very good at taking away the pain. I scared my kids more then once laying on the floor crying my eyes out though these attacks. BUT May 2004 got here(felt like it took forever) and on the 13th of May I started contractions at 4pm and by midnight I was at the hospital contractions coming every 2 minutes apart. I didn't have an IV or any pain meds(guess after all the gallbladder attacks the contractions just didn't seem to hurt LOL) When they did get a little painful I used my in room hot tub and shower it was wonderful. I was progressing but slowly. I also had two short gallbladder attacks during labor. To speed this story up.. I thought the baby wasn't head down, everyone kept telling me he was, but with every contractions I felt two hard bumps one on each side of me sort of like a diagonal line going across my tummy. NO ONE listen to me, or if they did They told me it was just a knee or something I was at 8cm and 100% and had a bulging bag of water so at 10am the doctor thought he would break my water and deliver this baby. ONLY when he broke the water, out came Little Man's cord(prolapsed cord) At that point in time I felt the worse pain ever(remember no IV no pain meds) as the doctor took his whole arm and stuck it in me to hold Little Man off his cord and to hold his cord open to keep Little Man and me from dieing. I was rushed into the O.R.(though it was a Saturday in a small town hospital and it took 20 minutes to get everyone they needed to the hospital to do this emergency c-sect. MY OB was none to happy about that and was letting everyone in the hospital know about it. A few weeks later he was no longer at that hospital(for those of you who lives in my town, Little Man was not born in the hospital here in Town) I was knocked out cold(goes back to my lack of IV and how fast they had to move to save the baby and me) and little Man was born. This was the 1st surgery and the 1st hospital stay.. I was talking about.
After Little Man's birth I was healing from a c-section that was killing me.. I was told If a c-sect is planned the healing go faster but I had Laboured with him in hard labor for 18 hours. Also besides this fact the gall bladder attacks started happening more and more and more and more like almost every hour lasting at least an hour.. Not fun at all.. I still couldn't taken heavy duty pain meds because I was nursing.. BUT I did get some stuff that was better then what I was taking, though it wasn't for the gallbladder it was given to me for the c-sect pain.
The 2nd hospital stay came along when Little Man was 10 days old. He woke up with a 104 fever I rushed him to the doctors(and missed the last MOPS meeting of the year which I really wanted to go to, to show off my new little Man) and They rushed my new little baby to the children's Hospital that is just over an hour east of here. That is where we spent the next week with test and spiel tabs and IV's and wires hooked all over my new baby which just broke my heart. Plus sleeping in a chair that pulls out into a bed while healing from a C-sect just 10 days before and having the gall bladder attacks just made for one really BAD time. Not to mention the medication they were giving Little Man was making him sleep pretty much all day long even more so then a newborn would sleep.. which meant he was hardly nursing.. So I was having to go every two hours down to the nurses pumping room and pump. Those hospital grad pumps are a wonderful thing though I must say it was the best pump I have ever used in my life.
They never did find out what was wrong with Little Man or why he was running that fever for most of the week, but after a week on IV antibiotics they let me bring him home. That was the 2nd hospital stay. When Little Man was 3 weeks old shortly after getting out of the hospital, I went to the surgeon to see about getting this gallbladder out the attacks were just getting to be too much. It's like after the baby was born it just had the stones lined up one after the other to pop on into that opening. ONLY I had lost so much blood during the C-sect they didn't think I was able to have another surgery so soon after wards. They said I should be about 10 weeks after the c-sect before they would cut on me anymore. So we set up the time 6 1/2 weeks from then.. That didn't take the pain away but it at least gave me a date to look forward to.

The 2nd surgery came a month after little Man's birth and It wasn't my surgery, It was a surgery for Princess that we had planned 6 months before hand because it would be during summer and Little Man would already had been born.. So I spent a Friday in the hospital with my baby girl from 5:50am to 7:30pm the whole time in the hospital I kept thinking of running over to find there E.R because the gall bladder pain was so bad. DH was with me but so was Little Man who needed his mommy to nurse him just about every 2 hours.. So I grinned and bared it Plus I was too worried about Princess to leave.. Everything turned out well with her and she got to come home that night under some heavy duty pain meds and about a month of healing or more to come for her. ONLY that night about midnight I had an attack that just wouldn't go away.. I took pain killer after pain killer(every 4 hours) when the attack had lasted about 16 hours.. (waited so long because DH was at work and my parent had the middle kids and I was at home alone with a girl who could hardly move from surgery the day before and a new born) It was time to call my mom and dad.. they got here just as DH did They took care of the kids, I called my doctor and DH took me to the hospital. (the same hospital Little man was born in) My doctor had called the hospital and told them to admit me as soon as I got there so when I got there they took DH to my room and me directly down to the Ultrasound room.. where they found I had a stone caught in the common bile duct.

I hate to do this to you all.. but I need to go get one kid out of the tub, get the other one started on there homework and worse of all Little Man just walked by and stinks to high heaven(so much for telling me he has to use the potty..) so I have to go change him and clean him up..
So I guess there will be a part 3 to this story tomorrow..
Good night all.

Princess didn't get a picture with us at the park Saturday because she was at her softball practices So I just added a picture of her playing ball from this past August.
