Time Travel Tuesday Smells.. LOL.. well no not really Time Travel Tuesday as far as I know doesn't have a scent.. But this week our wonderful host Annie wants us to visit the scents that take us back in time.. here is what she said.
Next smell that takes me back in time and brings back good memories is the scent of the Olay night cream.. My Grandma(dad's mom) wouldn't go to bed at night without doing up her face and our(me and my sister when we spent the night there) Every time I use the stuff now it takes me back to being a little girl spending the night with grandma.
Another smell that takes me back in time is still one of my favorite smells today.. Estee Lauders Beautiful. Another thing about my grandma(dad's mom) is she always wore perfume and as a little kid if I was to hug her or sit on her lap I would walk away smelling like grandma also.. I loved that and as a pre-teen wanted to smell not like grandma, but wanted to have my "own" smell also that when I was babysitting the kids sitting in my lap would remember that smell or that when my friends smelt that smell they would say.. OH that is what KC smells like.. WOW was i weird back then, LOL maybe I'm still weird.. My Grandma(dad's mom) bought me Beautiful one year when we were out shopping, I fell in love with it and it became "MY" perfume.. the one I wore daily and everyone of my friends knew what I wore and what my favorite perfume was.. I was about 12 when grandma bought it for me.. and I wore the same perfume on my wedding day.. Sadly I don't think I have bought any since Sweet pea was born 6 years ago.. Funny that is also when I became a full time stay at home mom. Guess I just spend the money on the kids now.. but it is worth it to be home with my babies.
It was what DH wore all the time while we were dating.. About a month after I started dating DH I was going away on a French club trip for a week with the school.. DH bought me a Teddy Bear and sprayed it down with this so I could remember him on my trip
The combo of Brut and Right Guard mixed with mom's perfume which I'm drawling a blank on the name.. reminds me of going to church every Sunday morning.. putting this stuff on would be the last thing they did before all of us jumping in the car... OH the headaches I would get on the way to church with the 5 of us all having our own sent..
The last scent I'll share with you all today is Herbal Essences. Back in 1995 I tried this shampoo.. I honestly can't remember what it did for my hair if I liked it or not.. All I remember is my parents took me and my sister on a vacation in Florida that summer. DH had to work and wanted to save his vacation time for the next month when we were going to TN. So it was just my parents and my sister. I kept feeling tired on the whole way down there, and my tummy kept feeling funny. But I was still going to have fun darn-it.. I was on the beach in Florida.. so I would go into the ocean, and feel sick, Lay on the beach and feel sick, swim in the pool and feel sick.. and almost feel like I was going to lose it every time I ate something.. Well as bad as all of that was.. It was nothing like what I felt every time I took a shower.. the minute I would open up my shampoo this Herbal Essences stuff I would feel so sick and end up losing everything I ate.. After 2 days.. It didn't matter if I was using it or if my mom or sister was in the hotel shower using it and i was laying on the bed.. as soon as I spelt that smell I was running to the bathroom or the nearest trash can and vomiting my guts out.. A week later after getting home from Florida I found out I was 8 weeks along with Princess.. Still to this day the smell from Herbal Essences shampoo brings on a gagging effect for me. Now a day they make a ton of Herbal Essences shampoo.. I know this because Princess now 12 years old bought home a few different kinds.. one to make her hair curly one to make it lay flat and so on.. the purple and green bottles of the stuff I can use and nothing.. but the pink bottle has the same smell as the stuff I used while PG with her that sent me knelt down to the porcelain god for months and months and months Still to this day brings back a ton of those memories and makes me feel ill.

It's party week... Are you ready to party??? You can find MY PARTY POST HERE.
It's Tuesday and time for some time traveling fun.
Our host for Time Travel Tuesday Annie, over at http://www.mylifeasannie.com/ had this for us today.
"Time traveling assignment for today:
Look around your house and find an object of interest.
Where did it come from?
Was it a gift from someone special or a gift for yourself? Tell all about it!
bonus: post a picture of your item!"
This is my item for the week.. My glider rocker. This Rocker was a baby shower gift from my Grandma(dad's mom) and my parents. They went in together for this item. They Got me over 100 other things each.. but my grandparents and my parents knew that I had been looking at this rocker because I wanted it to rock my very 1st baby in and I just loved the color and look of this one.. So together they surprised me with it. I got it a month, I think, before the baby was due.. and I placed it in our living room at our apartment we lived in at the time. I didn't want it in the baby's room because I wanted to use it all the time watching TV, visiting with people and all that fun stuff. I used it all the time from the moment I brought the baby home. This is a picture of a picture of Me in the rocker feeding Princess when she was 5 days old.. (Ummmm no I didn't nurse her, I only nursed the younger two. )
Now over 12 years later it sits in my family/dinning room mostly being used by the cats to sleep on during the day.. but also by the kids when they are watching TV out there. When we got the newer rocker recliners for the living room the plan was to get rid of the glider rocker, but when it came time to do it I couldn't part with it, because of the memories it held.. I know one day I should say good bye.. but today is not that day.
To visit others who are time traveling today or to play along head on over to Annie's blog
and don't for get to leave a comment and let me know you were here. Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Growing up, Easter was _________________.
Share your Easter traditions. Did you have egg hunts every year? A new dress? Was it a spiritual event in your family, or just a fun day?
Today Anne our host of Time travel Tuesday wants to know about our Easters growing up..
Wow, I could write forever on this topic, but I was gone all day at Princess county wide Academic Challenge Tournament..(I'll post about that tonight or tomorrow) and I just got home. My kids will be getting home from school soon so I don't have time to do this post up right with pictures and all.. But I will say Easters growing up were fun and busy.. Really fun and Really busy.
Alot of years we would do a over night trip to Niagara Falls Canada. We would leave on Good Friday and come home late Saturday night. One year we took my mom's parents with us, another year we took my dad's parents with us. A few year us kids got to take friends with us.. It was always so much fun.. Sometimes it was warm other years we were in a ton of snow and freezing.. but it was always a blast.
Easter Mornings we would get up and hunt for our Easter Baskets, then eat breakfast then get dress and go to Sunday school and Church.. Then after church would go to my dad's parents house for a big Easter Lunch normally Ham some times Turkey and Ham with all the trimmings. We would also get to hunt for Easter Baskets over there. Later on in the afternoon we would drive an hour over to my Mom's parents house and have Easter Dinner.. Also a different kind of ham and a tray of all sorts of cooled cut meats of sorts.. goodness I don't even know what kind of meats they were, I'm sure my mom could tell me, It was stuff like polish sausage and stuff. If it was warm out my grandma would have an Easter egg hunt in her back yard, if not we would do it in her basement and then we would be given our baskets from Grandma and my aunt.(all the cousins were there)
I did get a new Easter dress every year.(goodness I still need to get Princess her Easter outfit for this year and time is just flying by) It was both a spiritual event and a fun day in my family, and still is.
Maybe I'll write more Easter memories on Thursday if I get time..

Here is what our host Annie had for this weeks Time Travel Tuesday
"Travel back to your first few babysitting jobs, were you a teenager? Were there any interesting, scary, or neat experiences you remember?"
Babysitting.. WOW I could write a book on the many interesting experiences on this topic. I'll spear you all of those and just skim a few of them.
My first babysitting job was years before I was a teenager, looking back on it, it makes me wonder what this mother was thinking. There was a family in our church who use to go out weekly normally after church on Wednesday night or Sunday night and I had some older friends who they use to let babysit for them at those times.. and I remember always telling the mother I want to babysit for her also. At the time I was 10 years old and she had a 7 year old a 6 year old a 2 year old and a newborn. (oh at the time the mom was my sunday school teacher also) Well she must have though I was old enough because she called me one morning she needed to run to the grocery store and wanted me to come to her house and babysit the 2 year old and the new born.. And I did.. nothing exciting happened, the newborn was asleep when I got there only woke up once just long enough for me to put the pacie back in her mouth and the two year old and I just played the whole time. I think I was only left with them for about an hour it wasn't very long.. As a mother now.. there is no way I would leave my 2 year old and newborn with a 10 year old.. OR leave my 10 year old babysit a newborn.. crazy I tell ya.
After that I really didn't start doing the whole babysitting thing until I was 12 year old.. then I started getting calls from pretty much every family in our church and on our block.
I babysat for a doctors family who not only expected me to care for there 7 kids but also be there maid.. I would get there and she would have a list of things for me to do, such as do there laundry, do the dishes and mop and vacuum and dust. Then out of all the families I babysat for they paid me the least, and they would have been the one family I sat for who could have paid me alot more.
Then there was another family who didn't go to our church but knew me because they lived on the next road over.. They were the heavy partiers.. out drinking at the bar every weekend. They would pick me up(or if it was warm I would walk over there house) around dinner time on friday night and they would stay out till 1, 2, or 3 AM Then I would go back there on Saturday night around 5 pm and they would stay out really late again. When I started babysitting them.. they were newly married but she had 2 kids a little boy and a little girl. About two years later when I was 14.. they had one of there own.. She got home from the hospital with the baby on a friday and I went to visit her, while I was there they asked me to babysit for them on the next day.. So I got to babysit for there baby when she was 3 days old.. and yes they left at dinner time and didn't get back home till 2 AM By the time the baby was 2 years old they were going though an ugly divorce and I was babysitting for them daily after school till about 8pm That is when things got exciting because the dad was trying to steel the baby.. so I would have to call the cops and the mom if I saw him anywhere near the house(his parents lived two door over) yet he wasn't allowed that close to the girl.. There was one time he came to the door and started beating on it calling my name telling me it was ok to open it, he just left something there and needed to pick it up.. I honestly didn't know what to do.. He wouldn't leave and started to get mad that I opened the door.. so I had called the mom she was on her way but asked me if I could sneak out the back and get out of there and she would call the cops. So I got the 3 kids, who was very willing to listen to me with him out front beating on the door. and we went out the back door and though the back yards over to my house where we stayed with my parents until there mom came and got them.. I don't know what happened but after awhile the dad stopped coming around like that. But also shortly after that I started dating and that pretty much was the end of me babysitting on weekends, and shortly after that I got a job so I couldn't watch them after school.
Another babysitting job I had was for a summer every day while the parents were at work.. That job I loved.. it was for a family in our church they had two little boys and lived in an A framed house.. which I just loved that house and there boys were the best behaved kids ever.. They were 2 years old and a few months old.. I was 15 or 16 years old I think.. but it was those two little boys who made me want to be a super great mom one day.
There was another babysitting job I had for a little girl who had a brother about my age, who the parents didn't trust the brother to watch the girl so they would pay me to watch her if the brother was home or not. (UMMMMMMMMMM.. note to parents..... DON'T DO THAT) we will save those stores for another time travel tuesday when Annie ask if we ever snuck a boyfriend over while babysitting or if you ever kissed a boy while babysitting or something. ;P

WOW it has been awhile since I did a Time Travel Tuesday, but I have a few seconds today so I thought I would play along.
Growing up I had alot of different pets at different times. I loved each of them for different reasons and I can't say one was my favorite over the other.. I just loved them all.
When I was little I must have had a thing for Snow White, because Not only did I name my dog Happy, I also had a fish named Happy. Can't say I remember the fish all that well.. But I think I was 4 years old when we got Happy the Dog, he was a black mutt I guess.. Had him till I was in 1st grade I think.. I was told he ran away.. found out as an adult that they got ride of him because he kept biting the neighbor girl(though I remember the neighbor girl and she was mean and the dog had every right to bit her)
a few years later we got a beagle named Ginger, and then when Ginger was gone had another dog, don't know what it was but it was black and white and her name was Muffin, and then when I was in Jr High we got another dog because I begged and begged for it it was a mutt also and I named it Snickers.. had that dog up until I got married and a month after getting married Snickers died.
Then I had a few cats.. never more then one at a time..
but I had a black and white kitten named sox, he didn't last too long after running out in the middle of the road in front of a car. I also had a yellow cat named Popcorn.. who my parent had enough of and found it a good home or so they thought.. the people knew it had always been an indoor cat and they left it out all winter and it froze to death. Then I had a white cat while in high school who I named Kokomo. That cat loved me. Every day when I got home from school it would meet me at the door, it was an indoor and outdoor cat.. and when it was warm out and I was on a date as soon as we pulled in the drive way after the date, the cat would come and stand next to my side of the car and just stand there until I got out.. when I got out it followed me everywhere I went if I walked out front, it walked out front, if I went to the back door, it went to the back door.. and even when I got in the house.. if I went to my room it went to my room, if I headed to the living room it followed me there.. for about an hour every time I got home. I was crushed when that cat died.. He died when I was 18 years old, he passed on for being not so bright. it was cold very cold winter time and we were having some weather like we just had with all sorts of flooding.. the cat got outside and got scared to see all the water and ran under a crawl space of the house.. we called it and called it and try to go under as far as we could with as cold and wet as it was.. So we left it figured it would come out when it got cold enough and wanted in the house.. but it never came out.. the next day my dad crawled under that part of the house and found him dead.
So those are the pets I had growing up.. Since getting married we have only had cats. I'm not ready to deal with a dog at this point in time.
OH.. wait I almost for got to mention my turtle named Speedy and our rabbits.
I had a long haired fluffy rabit which I'm drawling a blank on it's name.. but once we got a new home for that one we got a little rabbit we named Misty and she had 4 babies which I named, salt, pepper, suger and coco
Hummmm wonder if I'm forgetting any other pets.. I think I'm done now. :)

I didn't think I would have time to do a Time Travel post today.. but I just saw what Annie had for our assignment today and well I can just link to a few post I all ready wrote for this one.
"We're traveling back to the most special moment over Christmas... was there a time that you had to bite your lip not to tear up? Did someone do something so kind it was moving, or maybe just finding that special thing your kiddo wanted really bad... maybe a church service you attended?"
I loved every moment of Christmas this year.. EVERY moment.. I would post about everything if I had the time..
but the highlights.. the candle light service at church, Christmas eve Party at my IL's, Christmas morning with the kids opening there gifts and my family Christmas party at my grandparents house.
I haven't got around to posting Christmas morning and my family party post yet..
But you can find The Candle Light Service post HERE

This week for Time Travel Tuesday are wonderful host Annie has this to say.
This week, Annie says: "We've all had them... the worst haircut or hair mistake ever! It didn't just go away either... Travel back to that tragic day that your hair went wrong. What happened? How did you deal with the problem... did it take a long time to work it out or grow it out?"
Well growing up in the 80's looking back most hair styles look like haircut mistakes LOL and I had a ton of perms.. most of them were ok.. the two bad perms that sticks out in my mind was the perm I got between Christmas 1991 and New Years 1992
That perm was just wild WILD.. a mile high also.. It took about 4 months to look normal. I stopped thinking of that perm as a bad perm and started thinking of it as the best perm i ever had.. even if it took about 6 months LOL..
This was taken on New years day 1992... I'm the one with the REALLY bad hair LOL
Then the summer of 1992 the perm wasn't that bad. This was the summer I worked at the church camp.
I was at the bottom right
This next one I'm still on the right
This next one I'm 2nd from the right.. I'll have to tell the story of the next two pictures on a different day.

This last one I'm on the left
I had another perm in 1994 early part of it, and it looked good for a year.. but in Dec 1994 I straightened my hair and wore it straight for a long time.. but I had had a perm for so long that I was missing my nice long permed hair.. So in 1997 my sister was planning her wedding.. and I use to love doing my hair up when it was permed.. So I went out and got another perm... OH MY GOODNESS.. LOL It wasn't as bad as the 1st bad perm but It looked so frizzy..
Princess was about 20 months old when I did this. I left her with my mom and when I came back to get her she heard the door open and came running though the house yelling MOM MOM MOM.. she saw me she stopped dead in her tracks and with big wide eyes looking at me she said "mommy needs a comb"
Here are two picture from Dec 1997 of that perm.. Princess was 23 months old in them.

Well that is my time travel for this week.

Here is what Annie had for us today
"This week we're traveling back to our most memorable Halloween. Did you dress up and go door to door growing up? What was your favorite costume?"
I don't know if I have one Halloween that just stands out as memorable more so then others.
Halloween 1974 I was almost two years old On Oct 31st. My mom dressed me up as a lion a homemade costume she made me and took me out trick or treating. She must have done way to much walking with me because she ended up in labor with my sister. On the next day November 1, 1974 I was no longer an only child I had a new baby sister.
Another one which I guess stands out is when I was in kindergarten, once again mom made my costume. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.. ONLY it was a little hard getting on and off the bus with it.. Here it is take a look. the year was 1978
Another fun Halloween was 1982.. My sister and I had our birthday party on Oct 31st. My sister's birthday as I said was November 1st and mine is November 9th. So we often shared birthday parties. This year we made our birthday a costume party. I'm went as strawberry shortcake this year.
To answer more of the questions.. Yes I did dress up, but we could not dress up in anything scary or that wasn't very Christian like(using this wording because I don't want to end up with some weird people finding my blog while doing Google searches, this is also why I'm not going to give examples of what we couldn't dress as)
Yes we did go out door to door trick or treating. I'm not really sure what my favorite costume was. I went as a Lion, Casper
a princess,
a Bible, strawberry shortcake(which at the time I thought was my favorite outfit because it was my only store bought one) When I was a little older I went as an old women.
This was my last year or trick or treating with my sister and brother and my mom.. I did go two times after I was a teen, with a group of kids. The 1st year I was in 7th grade and went as a punk rocker I guess.. I wore a funky skirt, leg warmers, and a mixed matched shirt and had hot pink hair. we only went down one road and that was the road the church was on because we were on our way to a costume party with our teen group. Then when I was a freshmen in high school me, my sister and my friend dressed up as the 3 blind mice hit a few roads and then went to a Halloween party at my boyfriend(at that time) church.
So there you have it my time travel for today..
Happy Tuesday everyone.

My Time Travel Tuesday post for the week has turned into a 4 day project.. Never planed for that to happen.. OOPES..
You can read Part #1, Part #2 or Part #3 just by clicking on which ever part you want to read.
When I left off yesterday I had just got to the hospital, had an Ultra sound that showed a stone was caught in the common bile duct.
This was about 8 or 9pm on Saturday night. They admitted me and took me to my room where they did blood work after blood work after blood work and tried to get an IV into my arm only took them about 10 times and 4 different nurses..
To speed this story up ALOT.. I was on a clear liquid diet and alot of pain meds(though I was making sure I could still feed the baby my milk with each thing they gave me) It was Saturday night and they weren't going to do a thing for me except do blood work every 2 hours and keep me on IV pain killers.. besides being very sick from the stone blocking the common bile duct and messing up my liver function.. My heart was also breaking.. My month old baby who had just spent time in the children's hospital and who had never taken a bottle a day in his life.. was having to spend the night with his grandma.. He was nursing every two hours how was he going to do.. Thankfully I had been pumping a bottle of milk a day for him knowing that I was going to have to have surgery sometime after he was born. If that wasn't enough to break a new mama's heart.. My oldest who was only 9 years old at the time just had some what major surgery on two parts of her body the day before and was still in real bad pain on pain medication every 4 hours.. and she had to pretty much stay still as to not bump her hears and her whole head was bandaged up and her whole face was all black and blue.. she was sleeping most the time but as the pain medication wore off she would wake up crying her eyes out.. and Now here mommy wasn't even there to take care of her, she had to leave her house and go to her grandma's house. I tell ya I just cried and cried my eyes out Saturday night in that hospital bed.
Then just went down hill from there. Sunday morning my doctor comes in and tells me they will be doing surgery but the earliest they could do it would be on Tuesday for many reasons. One was I was too sick to be put under, my blood work numbers were all bad, My blood count was way too low(due to the C-sect 4 weeks before hand) and all the other numbers were a mess from me being so sick and puking my guts out for months and months and now with the bile being blocked my liver numbers were really bad also.. Another reason was they needed to do another test to see how badly blocked everything was.. and since it was a Sunday the person who did that test wasn't there, they could have called him in but the silly little small town hospital was out of the radiation medication that I had to drink to have the test done. So I spent Sunday, Fathers Day Sunday in the hospital just being sick, and still having the gall bladder attack still on heavy pain meds and just so heartbroken feeling like such an awful mother leaving my newborn who had never been away from me ever and never had a bottle before and leaving my oldest still recovering herself. PLUS it was Fathers Day.. my kids and rest of the family had a nice Fathers day with my parents and grandparents.. and my mom brought the baby over to me in the afternoon and I was able to nurse him a little but I could hardly lift my head. But when it was time to go I didn't want to let go of my baby.. I just wanted to keep him in the hospital bed with me and never let him go.. So I spent Sunday night crying my eyes out again.. OH and did I mention I was also pumping every two hours and having the nurses store it for me so when my mom came by each day she could pick it up so that Little Man would have something to drink every two hours.
Monday morning came and I learned a whole new meaning of sick. I was on day 4 of this gall bladder attack I was getting worse not better and then there was Monday where I got radioactive medication put in me so they could track stuff inside of me.. I was puking neon green for the next 24 hours. Plus I was told I couldn't nurse Little Man that day and I had to pump and dump for the next 24 hours. OH Man I was so sore from pumping ever two hours that the thought of still having to pump but having to dump it put me into tears. But then seeing the funky color milk that was filling into those bottles made me know there was NO WAY I could give that to my baby. BUT what really hurt the most was that My mom didn't bring Little Man to see me that day. The hospital was an hour away and since she had came out the past two days and Monday I couldn't even nurse Little Man or give her milk that I had just pumped.. She didn't want to make the trip. I wasn't upset with my mom, I totally understood where she was coming from.. but it was so heartbreaking to be away from my 4 1/2 week old baby. DH did bring in the other 3 for me to see. He had to take Monday off work because Princess needed to go back to the children's hospital to have some bandages removed and some of the stitches taken out from her surgery she had on Friday. BUT when the kids were there I was so very sick and seeing me puke neon green scared them.. So he left and took them back to grandma's house.
Tuesday morning I had the 1st surgery.. the surgery to remove the stone from the common bile duct(which is something you have to do before removing the gallbladder) ONLY the small town hospital I was at didn't have a doctor who could do that so I had to take a nice little commute to the hospital in the town I live in to have this surgery,(LOL why you may as was I at this small town hospital when there is a hospital in my town.. The answer was all due to my O.B. who was no longer working out of my towns hospital.. since I found out about the gall bladder while PG. We had it planned before Little Man was born that when I had the Gall Bladder taken out that same day while I was still under My OB would tie my tubes so that is why I was at the small town hospital)
Anyways after getting to my towns hospital I was taken to the same day surgery gowned up and wheeled in for surgery.. don't remember alot after that of that day, Except I had to pump and dump for a couple of hours afterwards. BUT my mom had brought Little Man to me Tuesday before the surgery so I was able to hold my baby, get my baby kisses and nurse him before I was put under.
OH did I mention that I was on a clear liquid diet this whole time, my last meal of real food was Friday night at dinner and this was Tuesday night.. I WAS SOOOOOOOOOOO HUNGRY.
Good news was on Wednesday afternoon they were going to remove my gall bladder.
Wednesday morning my mom came and I got to nurse Little Man and DH was there.. After I nursed him someone(don't remember if it was DH or mom) took Little Man to spend the day with my grandparents mom and DH was both back before the surgery.
BUT more bad news came, I was still way low on blood. So before the surgery I had to have a blood transfusion. they pumped in 2 1/2 big bags of blood.. and it was off to surgery.. both of my doctors came to see me. the surgeon who was doing the gall bladder, plus my OB who was doing my tubes. After that I don't remember anything except waking up a little hearing DH talking to the surgeon that everything went well. Then I remember being up a little more with my OB standing over me and him telling me there was a little bit of a problem during surgery.. That little problem was that they had poked a hole though my uterus. UGH.. but being in my space out state still not really with it, I just looked up and said "Oh well I don't plan on using it anymore" The OB just started cracking up.. I loved my OB.. he delivered each and everyone of my kids and was there along side of me holding my hand and crying his eyes out right along with me when I lost Alyssa.. He is no longer working around here(if at all as far as I know) I miss him.
Normally with tubes and Gallbladder it is same day surgery.. but Not for me.. I was still way to sick to go home.. So I spent the next two days healing and getting healthier in the hospital.
So I spent a week in the hospital away from my babies, all 4. By the time I got back home Little Man had forgot how to latch on to nurse we had one very painful week after that with cracked nipples and a baby who got use to sucking a bottle.. happily he got the hang of it again and my supply never went down at all. Also when I got home Princess had all her bandages off and her stitches removed(my mom and dad took her to do that the day I was being released from the hospital.
The good things were I was back with my family, I wasn't having gall bladder attacks, and with not getting to eat for a week and being sick and puking on top of it.. I had lost all the weight I gained while PG.
So that is the biggest illness I have ever been though..
Don't worry I'm sure Next week's time travel Tuesday post won't take 4 days to type out LOL.
have a great weekend ya'll

You can read part 2 Here
yesterday when I did the part two I got a little long winded.. So today I'll try to keep this short and sweet.
I went though the rest of my PG having gallbladder attacks daily, more then daily it was 3 to 10 attacks a day.. some lasting as little as 5 minutes some lasting 2 1/2 hours. I was given a mild pain killer to help with the big long attacks but with being PG it wasn't very good at taking away the pain. I scared my kids more then once laying on the floor crying my eyes out though these attacks. BUT May 2004 got here(felt like it took forever) and on the 13th of May I started contractions at 4pm and by midnight I was at the hospital contractions coming every 2 minutes apart. I didn't have an IV or any pain meds(guess after all the gallbladder attacks the contractions just didn't seem to hurt LOL) When they did get a little painful I used my in room hot tub and shower it was wonderful. I was progressing but slowly. I also had two short gallbladder attacks during labor. To speed this story up.. I thought the baby wasn't head down, everyone kept telling me he was, but with every contractions I felt two hard bumps one on each side of me sort of like a diagonal line going across my tummy. NO ONE listen to me, or if they did They told me it was just a knee or something I was at 8cm and 100% and had a bulging bag of water so at 10am the doctor thought he would break my water and deliver this baby. ONLY when he broke the water, out came Little Man's cord(prolapsed cord) At that point in time I felt the worse pain ever(remember no IV no pain meds) as the doctor took his whole arm and stuck it in me to hold Little Man off his cord and to hold his cord open to keep Little Man and me from dieing. I was rushed into the O.R.(though it was a Saturday in a small town hospital and it took 20 minutes to get everyone they needed to the hospital to do this emergency c-sect. MY OB was none to happy about that and was letting everyone in the hospital know about it. A few weeks later he was no longer at that hospital(for those of you who lives in my town, Little Man was not born in the hospital here in Town) I was knocked out cold(goes back to my lack of IV and how fast they had to move to save the baby and me) and little Man was born. This was the 1st surgery and the 1st hospital stay.. I was talking about.
After Little Man's birth I was healing from a c-section that was killing me.. I was told If a c-sect is planned the healing go faster but I had Laboured with him in hard labor for 18 hours. Also besides this fact the gall bladder attacks started happening more and more and more and more like almost every hour lasting at least an hour.. Not fun at all.. I still couldn't taken heavy duty pain meds because I was nursing.. BUT I did get some stuff that was better then what I was taking, though it wasn't for the gallbladder it was given to me for the c-sect pain.
The 2nd hospital stay came along when Little Man was 10 days old. He woke up with a 104 fever I rushed him to the doctors(and missed the last MOPS meeting of the year which I really wanted to go to, to show off my new little Man) and They rushed my new little baby to the children's Hospital that is just over an hour east of here. That is where we spent the next week with test and spiel tabs and IV's and wires hooked all over my new baby which just broke my heart. Plus sleeping in a chair that pulls out into a bed while healing from a C-sect just 10 days before and having the gall bladder attacks just made for one really BAD time. Not to mention the medication they were giving Little Man was making him sleep pretty much all day long even more so then a newborn would sleep.. which meant he was hardly nursing.. So I was having to go every two hours down to the nurses pumping room and pump. Those hospital grad pumps are a wonderful thing though I must say it was the best pump I have ever used in my life.
They never did find out what was wrong with Little Man or why he was running that fever for most of the week, but after a week on IV antibiotics they let me bring him home. That was the 2nd hospital stay. When Little Man was 3 weeks old shortly after getting out of the hospital, I went to the surgeon to see about getting this gallbladder out the attacks were just getting to be too much. It's like after the baby was born it just had the stones lined up one after the other to pop on into that opening. ONLY I had lost so much blood during the C-sect they didn't think I was able to have another surgery so soon after wards. They said I should be about 10 weeks after the c-sect before they would cut on me anymore. So we set up the time 6 1/2 weeks from then.. That didn't take the pain away but it at least gave me a date to look forward to.
The 2nd surgery came a month after little Man's birth and It wasn't my surgery, It was a surgery for Princess that we had planned 6 months before hand because it would be during summer and Little Man would already had been born.. So I spent a Friday in the hospital with my baby girl from 5:50am to 7:30pm the whole time in the hospital I kept thinking of running over to find there E.R because the gall bladder pain was so bad. DH was with me but so was Little Man who needed his mommy to nurse him just about every 2 hours.. So I grinned and bared it Plus I was too worried about Princess to leave.. Everything turned out well with her and she got to come home that night under some heavy duty pain meds and about a month of healing or more to come for her. ONLY that night about midnight I had an attack that just wouldn't go away.. I took pain killer after pain killer(every 4 hours) when the attack had lasted about 16 hours.. (waited so long because DH was at work and my parent had the middle kids and I was at home alone with a girl who could hardly move from surgery the day before and a new born) It was time to call my mom and dad.. they got here just as DH did They took care of the kids, I called my doctor and DH took me to the hospital. (the same hospital Little man was born in) My doctor had called the hospital and told them to admit me as soon as I got there so when I got there they took DH to my room and me directly down to the Ultrasound room.. where they found I had a stone caught in the common bile duct.
I hate to do this to you all.. but I need to go get one kid out of the tub, get the other one started on there homework and worse of all Little Man just walked by and stinks to high heaven(so much for telling me he has to use the potty..) so I have to go change him and clean him up..
So I guess there will be a part 3 to this story tomorrow..
Good night all.

So many of you commented asking questions about my Time Travel Tuesday from this week.
If you didn't see it you can read it HERE.
Let see if I can't answer some of these questions.
Ouch!!! Hope everything was ok by the time you got married -- I imagine you wouldn;t want to tuck your bouquet into the sling. :-)
I can't imagine what kind of illness would put you in the hospital that many times and cause that many surgeries. Sounds awful!!!
You expression in that picture says it all. So what happened to the kid for putting you through that and do you have any repercussions from that still to this day?
Yeah...ouch is right!! do you still have neck probs from it?? I wouldn't doubt it!!

Annie over at My Life As Annie, our wonderful host of Time Travel Tuesday, has this for us for this 23 day of October 2007. "this week. What's the most serious accident or illness you have ever had? Tell us about it!"
The biggest accident I was ever in was in late Aug 1994. I was driving just 2 blocks from my house to DH's house(who wasn't my husband just yet) I was going there to pick up my youngest BIL to take him to golf practices. I was in college at the time but BIL was still in high school, The high school had just let out of school for the day so all the kids were walking home or driving home or however they got home. I was at a sit still position to make a left hand turn, waiting on two cars to go by so I wouldn't get hit. When some silly 16 year old boy with a freshly new license rear ended me, doing 65 in a 25 zone. pushed me and my car two doors up, totaling my daytona and messing up my are and shifting 2 or 3 vertebra's in my neck.. can you say OUCH. Not only was this my first accident with me as the driver but also my first and only ambulance ride to the hospital. All of this with in about a month and a half before my wedding.. UGH.
I'm heading out shopping with my mom today and she should be here soon so I'll have to save my biggest illness story for another day, but it included 5 surgeries, and 3 hospital stays all with in 5 weeks. So until another time, That is it for me with the Time Traveling for this Tuesday.
Have a great day everyone.

Here is what Annie are wonderful host of Time Travel Tuesday had for us today "Tell us the most adventurous thing you have ever done! What gave you the courage to do it or try it and how did you feel afterwards?"
We aren't going back to far this week because I can't think of anything adventurous to write about LOL.. I mean there are things that come to mind, but my mom reads this blog LOL.. I mean I don't want her to fall over dead or anything.. you know finding out stuff like her little girl climbing out of hotel room windows on school trips to climb into the boys hotel room to play cards and then sneaking back into our room though the windows again..(had to use the windows they taped our doors) sure climbing out windows and walking on window ledges no big deal, why would your mom die??? What did I forget to mention we were 4 or 5 floors up ;P
So for my mothers health we will just go back to my kids birthdays parties..
I don't know if they count as adventurous or not but you tell me what you think.
Here is where you can read about Mr Man's party from last year.. click here
This year he wants to cut his list down and go to chuck e cheese and then come home and do cake and ice cream and have a sleep over.
Here is Princess birthday last year Click Here
She has always had at least 25 girls at her birthday parties starting from the time she turned 6 so this was nothing new for us.. She mentions every year cutting the number of girls down but when the time comes for the party she always change her mind.. He mentioned cutting it down to maybe 12 this year.. we will see. LOL.
Sweet Peas party seem very mild to me but I'll post a link to hers also Click Here
Well that is it for my time traveling for the day.. If your looking to travel back in time go check out Annie's blog.

Here is what Annie had for us
this week we will travel back to our first home... was it your very own apartment, or a home with your new spouse? What memories do you have from that first home? How did you make that first house (or apartment) a home? Come back Tuesday and share!
(All picture in this post are pictures taken with my cell phone of old pictures sorry if they are not the best)
My 1st home was an upstairs apartment above what was at the time my grandpa's realstate offices. The 1st night I spent in this home was my wedding night, the 1st night DH stayed was the night before our wedding. We got the keys for our 1st home the 1st weekend of October 1994 which was also the weekend of my family bridal shower. We moved all our gifts right into the apartment. We spent the next few weekends setting up our home. Then we were Married on October 29, 1994This was the front of our home(picture taken in Dec 95 or Jan 96 I can't remember which)
This was the back of it.
This bottom picture was taken Dec 1994, it is of our 1st homes bathroom. I was taking pictures of our Christmas decorations. The next few shots were of our living room they were taken in Nov 1994 after I got our wedding pictures back and hung on the walls.
This last shot of the living room was taken in Dec 1995. the picture was taken to show off my new chair that my grandma and mom bought for me as a baby shower gift.
Yes.. I said baby shower. Our 1st home was also the home we brought our 1st child home
Here we are bring Princess home from the hospital January 1996Here is Princess in our bedroom(I was looking everywhere for the real nice pictures of our bedroom, it was a HUGE room I loved it, wish we had that bedroom now, but I couldn't find the pictures)
Here is Princess 1st bedroom in our 1st home.
Our 1st home holds soooooooooo many memory. My 1st time living out side of my parents home, My 1st night spent as a married couple, My 1st time cooking as a wife, and my 1st home to clean and decorate, my 1st place to do laundry while married(though we were in the upstairs part of this super big house and our washer and drier was in the basement)
Then My 1st pregnancy was spent in this house, me and the toilet became best of friends as I was always bending over it.. UGH pregnancy is unkind to me LOL.
The bathroom was HUGE also.. wish I had that bathroom back..
Honestly I loved this house.. in our upstairs we had 3 bedrooms a living room, huge bathroom and then about the same size kitchen as I have now. Grandpa had his offices down stairs but then since it was my grandpa, he let me keep my piano down stairs in one of the rooms that he didn't use for the office. I also had the run of the downstairs after office hours. At the time we didn't have a microwave, but the office did in there really big kitchen so when ever I needed it I just went down stairs and used it.. I also didn't have a computer but had grandpas permission to use his anytime I wanted too.
I remember so many night waiting down stairs in the office,(though if the place would have been a house it would have been this really large living room area) for domino's to deliver my pizza :)
and thinking to myself How much I would love to have this really large old home as my house, not just the upstairs but all of it.. ONLY there was no yard at all so I really didn't want it.. I wanted it but I wanted it someplace there was a yard LOL. PLUS it was sort of on the corner, only a church next to it and there was a traffic light right there so all day and night you heard cars and trucks breaks coming to a quick stop.. But in the winter when the snow was falling it was really cool to look out our bedroom windows which was at the front of the house out at the traffic light and the lights from the salon across the street reflecting off the snow.
Then there is the heart melting memories of bringing my 1st baby home to this place. She learned to roll over, crawl, sit up, and walk at this place. I remember DH at one end of the hallway and Me at the other having her walk back and forth to us.. She also said her 1st words there, had her 1st Easter and Christmas and birthday there. Just so many sweet memories.
We lived there from Oct 29, 1994 until May 1997

Ouch is right. So did you have any evidence (neck brace/sling) of your accident on your wedding day?
