A Mothers Meme part 2

A while ago I did A mothers meme. which was all about my 1st pregnancy At the end of that I said one day I would have to do this for my other children also. Well today since Mr Man's birthday is in 2 days I thought now would be a good time to do this for him.

1. WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED? Yes.. We were trying to get PG for 2 years and I was taking clomid for a year of that. The doctor the month before I got PG told me the Clomid wasn't working and he was going to have to send me to a different doctor because there was nothing more he could do.. I begged him to let me give it one more try, he tried to talk me out of it but in the end agreed and that month I got PG with Mr Man.

2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME? Yes for almost 5 years.

3. WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS?
very very VERY excited

4. WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU? NO NO NO NO NO NEVER!!!!!!!!!

5. HOW OLD WERE YOU? 26 when I found out I was PG, 27 and 6 days old when I had him

6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? being on the colmid I was having blood work done around the time I should have ovulated. the 1st 11 months each month I was getting the call that NO they were sorry I did not ovulate. The last month I got the call saying why yes you did ovulate a little.. So I knew the date that it happened and 2 or 3 weeks later I took a home PG test. After 2 years of month after month after month of seeing the negative test result, then spending days crying my eyes out.. and knowing that this was our last shot at it(DH and I had made up our minds that if this last round of colmid didn't do the trick we were done we weren't going to try anymore) My heart just couldn't stand another negative test.. So I took the test and left the bathroom and DH was the one to read the test when it was time. He came out of the restroom with his eyes all shining so I just knew before he even told me that it was positive.

7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST?
My parents, It was a Sunday morning and we waited for them to come into the church and we told them.. then everyone at church.. everyone knew the trouble I was having and was keeping us in there prayer so everyone was so excited. After church we went and told my in laws and then called my grandparents.

8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX?
YES YES and YES.. I couldn't wait to find out.

.9. DUE DATE?
November 30, 1999

.10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS?
OH heavens YES.. had it with all 5 of my pregnancies.. it started about 7 weeks along and lasted all day every day for 9 months. I lost 25 pounds with him before I started to gain it back.

11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE?
grapes and apples they were about the only thing that tasted good to me and didn't taste to awful on there way back up.
.

12. WHO IRRITATED YOU THE MOST?
No one I was too sick to worry about other people.. I was so darn sick I feel like I missed 9 months of Princess life and my mom, DH and my Grandma had to care for her during my PG.

13. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHILD'S SEX?
A Boy

14. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING?
Not really. well maybe a little because I always wanted two girls so I could dress them in the cutest matching outfits and then sit back and ooh and awww over just how darn cute they looked LOL.. and since we were 100% sure this was our last child because I was never going to put myself though the fertility treatments again and all the heart break of not getting PG.. when I heard boy I sort of saw my dream of matching girls dresses being laid to rest and I grieved that for little while but was also very excited that I was going to have a nice little family of four with One girl and One boy.. what could be better then that.

15. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY?
Like I said above I lost 25 pounds from morning sickness before I started to gain. Then I gained that 25 pounds back but the doctor didn't count that as gain. After I got back to my starting weight I gained 25 pounds.

16. Did YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER? No..

17. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW? Only had the baby shower for the 1st PG.

18. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY?
Awful Awful morning sickness Then we almost lost Mr Man at birth. His cord was wrapped around his neck twice though out my whole Labor and delivery and with each contraction his heart rate would drop to 50 or lower.

19. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH?
In the hospital of the town I live

20. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR?
He was my shortest and easiest labor. At 3 in the morning I was uncomfy sleeping in my bed because Princess had climbed into the middle of it, So I got up and went and slept in Princess's bed.. I had just closed my eyes when I felt Princess climbing over me to sleep with me in her bed. Just as I wrapped my arm around her I felt the hardest kick ever right into my bladder and cervix and nothing thing you know I was wet the bed was wet everything was wet.. I wasn't sure if My water broke or if I had peed from getting kicked so hard.. went to the restroom and the water wouldn't stop at all.. My water had broke. I got to do the whole tv waking your hubby up in the middle of the night and saying "Honey It's Time" This was all at 3am I was in the hospital by 3:30am and Mr Man was born at 12:10PM So about 9 hours.

21. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL? DH and Princess.. My parents meet us at the hospital to pick up Princess.

22. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH? DH the nurses and one really ticked off doctor

23. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION?
natural without a single tear, cut or stitch, The reason the doctor was so ticked off is because while he was at his office not the hospital One of the nurses checked me saw I was at 10cm and told me to push.. I pushed and Mr Man's head started to come out they saw the cord and she took her hand and pushed Mr Man back up inside of me and held him there and started to scream to get the doctor here STAT. and then all heck broke lose and there was doctors and nurses and people running all over my room. the doctor got there the nurse tried to put a gown on him and he tossed it to the ground and said he didn'thave time for that and he delivered Mr Man in a suit and gloves. He was none to happy with the nurses. It only took one more push then his head was out and the doctor unwrapped the cord, then he had me reach down and put my hands under Mr Man's arms and then had me pull him out the rest of the way. Then they rushed my baby off because he was barley breathing.. I didn't see Mr Man again for just over an hour.

24. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! OH YES YES YES,

27. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH?? 6 lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long

28. DID YOUR CHILD HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS? Yes his cord and that he was hardly breathing, after they got him breathing, he had to be on Oxygen for about an hour. But after that he was fine.

29. WHEN WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN ? November 15, 1999

30. WHAT DID YOU NAME HIM/HER?
DH picked his real name, but here on my blog I'll just call him Mr Man.

31. HOW OLD IS YOUR FIRST BORN TODAY? 7 years 11 months and 29 days

guess I'll get to my last 3 PG on another day.

Have a wonderful Tuesday Everyone.

Part 3 Time Travel Tuesday for the week.

You can read part 2 Hereyesterday when I did the part two I got a little long winded.. So today I'll try to keep this short and sweet.

I went though the rest of my PG having gallbladder attacks daily, more then daily it was 3 to 10 attacks a day.. some lasting as little as 5 minutes some lasting 2 1/2 hours. I was given a mild pain killer to help with the big long attacks but with being PG it wasn't very good at taking away the pain. I scared my kids more then once laying on the floor crying my eyes out though these attacks. BUT May 2004 got here(felt like it took forever) and on the 13th of May I started contractions at 4pm and by midnight I was at the hospital contractions coming every 2 minutes apart. I didn't have an IV or any pain meds(guess after all the gallbladder attacks the contractions just didn't seem to hurt LOL) When they did get a little painful I used my in room hot tub and shower it was wonderful. I was progressing but slowly. I also had two short gallbladder attacks during labor. To speed this story up.. I thought the baby wasn't head down, everyone kept telling me he was, but with every contractions I felt two hard bumps one on each side of me sort of like a diagonal line going across my tummy. NO ONE listen to me, or if they did They told me it was just a knee or something I was at 8cm and 100% and had a bulging bag of water so at 10am the doctor thought he would break my water and deliver this baby. ONLY when he broke the water, out came Little Man's cord(prolapsed cord) At that point in time I felt the worse pain ever(remember no IV no pain meds) as the doctor took his whole arm and stuck it in me to hold Little Man off his cord and to hold his cord open to keep Little Man and me from dieing. I was rushed into the O.R.(though it was a Saturday in a small town hospital and it took 20 minutes to get everyone they needed to the hospital to do this emergency c-sect. MY OB was none to happy about that and was letting everyone in the hospital know about it. A few weeks later he was no longer at that hospital(for those of you who lives in my town, Little Man was not born in the hospital here in Town) I was knocked out cold(goes back to my lack of IV and how fast they had to move to save the baby and me) and little Man was born. This was the 1st surgery and the 1st hospital stay.. I was talking about.
After Little Man's birth I was healing from a c-section that was killing me.. I was told If a c-sect is planned the healing go faster but I had Laboured with him in hard labor for 18 hours. Also besides this fact the gall bladder attacks started happening more and more and more and more like almost every hour lasting at least an hour.. Not fun at all.. I still couldn't taken heavy duty pain meds because I was nursing.. BUT I did get some stuff that was better then what I was taking, though it wasn't for the gallbladder it was given to me for the c-sect pain.
The 2nd hospital stay came along when Little Man was 10 days old. He woke up with a 104 fever I rushed him to the doctors(and missed the last MOPS meeting of the year which I really wanted to go to, to show off my new little Man) and They rushed my new little baby to the children's Hospital that is just over an hour east of here. That is where we spent the next week with test and spiel tabs and IV's and wires hooked all over my new baby which just broke my heart. Plus sleeping in a chair that pulls out into a bed while healing from a C-sect just 10 days before and having the gall bladder attacks just made for one really BAD time. Not to mention the medication they were giving Little Man was making him sleep pretty much all day long even more so then a newborn would sleep.. which meant he was hardly nursing.. So I was having to go every two hours down to the nurses pumping room and pump. Those hospital grad pumps are a wonderful thing though I must say it was the best pump I have ever used in my life.
They never did find out what was wrong with Little Man or why he was running that fever for most of the week, but after a week on IV antibiotics they let me bring him home. That was the 2nd hospital stay. When Little Man was 3 weeks old shortly after getting out of the hospital, I went to the surgeon to see about getting this gallbladder out the attacks were just getting to be too much. It's like after the baby was born it just had the stones lined up one after the other to pop on into that opening. ONLY I had lost so much blood during the C-sect they didn't think I was able to have another surgery so soon after wards. They said I should be about 10 weeks after the c-sect before they would cut on me anymore. So we set up the time 6 1/2 weeks from then.. That didn't take the pain away but it at least gave me a date to look forward to.

The 2nd surgery came a month after little Man's birth and It wasn't my surgery, It was a surgery for Princess that we had planned 6 months before hand because it would be during summer and Little Man would already had been born.. So I spent a Friday in the hospital with my baby girl from 5:50am to 7:30pm the whole time in the hospital I kept thinking of running over to find there E.R because the gall bladder pain was so bad. DH was with me but so was Little Man who needed his mommy to nurse him just about every 2 hours.. So I grinned and bared it Plus I was too worried about Princess to leave.. Everything turned out well with her and she got to come home that night under some heavy duty pain meds and about a month of healing or more to come for her. ONLY that night about midnight I had an attack that just wouldn't go away.. I took pain killer after pain killer(every 4 hours) when the attack had lasted about 16 hours.. (waited so long because DH was at work and my parent had the middle kids and I was at home alone with a girl who could hardly move from surgery the day before and a new born) It was time to call my mom and dad.. they got here just as DH did They took care of the kids, I called my doctor and DH took me to the hospital. (the same hospital Little man was born in) My doctor had called the hospital and told them to admit me as soon as I got there so when I got there they took DH to my room and me directly down to the Ultrasound room.. where they found I had a stone caught in the common bile duct.

I hate to do this to you all.. but I need to go get one kid out of the tub, get the other one started on there homework and worse of all Little Man just walked by and stinks to high heaven(so much for telling me he has to use the potty..) so I have to go change him and clean him up..
So I guess there will be a part 3 to this story tomorrow..
Good night all.

Time Travel Tuesday(our birth story)

Today August 7, 2007 Annie our wonderful host of Time Travel Tuesday wants us to travel back to when we gave birth.
OH Goodie, :) this is one of my favorite topics to talk about and relive. it was 4 of the most wonderful days of my life and always will be. There is no better feeling in this world then to look into your child's eye for the very 1st time.

How do I pick just one story to share with you all. 1st let me share with you that I hate, HATE being pregnant. I love feeling my baby move and kick and seeing there tiny self on ultra sound and love playing games with the baby as they grow in me, and singing to them and such.. ONLY I don't do well while I'm pregnant. I get extremely sick with morning sickness and it last the whole 9 months. I'm worse when I'm carrying boys then I am with the girls, but with both sex I'm just plain sick for 9 long months. With Princess I lost 15 pounds before I started gaining weigh, with Mr Man I lost 25 pounds in 15 of that was lost in one month while PG with him, With Sweet Pea and Little Man I did a little better only losing 10 pounds with both of them I was still puking my guts out all the way up till the day all 4 of them were born. So I don't like being pregnant.
Now my birth stories I love.. Each and everyone was so different

Princess was my 1st baby. She is the one who changed my world forever well each of them changed my world, but she is the one who made me a mom. Her birth was pretty uneventful.. But she was also the only one I had back labour with.. UMMMMMMMM I would take front labour over back labour anyday. Here is Princess just a few minutes old. The bottom photo is Princess at a day old
I'm not going to share her whole birth story today because I shared alot of it just a few weeks ago when I did the mothers meme post.. to read about Princess birth you can click here to go to that meme.

The shot above is Princess hospital picture.. Princess was born January 18. 1996

My next baby I will share his birth story because I have yet to do this on my blog. Mr Man was baby #2 This is his hospital picture. He was two days old in it. Mr Man was due November 30, 1999. Like I said I was sick my whole PG with him, He was my worst for morning sickness. and I felt and looked awful though out the whole 9 months... Something I didn't mention is that I also start getting Braxton hicks contractions around 7 or 8 months with each of the kids and with each kid they came sooner and more often then the next.
One November 14 1999. I was having a pretty good day only puked like 5 times wasn't having contractions at all, and Mr Man was still high in my belly no dropping yet for him. My grandpa's birthday is Nov 14. and we were at his house for his birthday dinner/party.. and grandpa kept counting hours, like Only 12 more hours left for you to have this baby on the day of my birthday.. and I just giggled and said, "sorry I don't think this one is coming early(princess was 15 days early) I'm just not having contractions at all today" well when he did one of the count down times my grandma said to him "look at her she is still carrying way up high this baby isn't coming for another two weeks"
That night I went home, we had been remodeling our bathroom and had just finished up all that was left was to hand all the new shower curtains and drapes.. so me in all my pregnant huge as a house glory climbed up on the bathtub and hung the shower curtains DH walked in and yelled at me for standing up there and he hung the valance for me.. Then I got Princess to sleep and started doing laundry.. I had pills of folded cloths from one end of my livingroom to the next. Then I though.. well I guess it would be a good time to pack a hospital bag, I mean I had a little one packed already just in case since Princess came early.. but I finished up packing the hospital bags and I went to bed. Princess climbed into our bed and was sleeping in the middle of us and she kept kicking me out of the bed so I covered her up and went and to sleep in her bed in her room. Just as soon as I rolled over and closed my eye Princess was climbing in bed climbing right over my big ole belly. I tucked her under the covers with me thinking good I'll get her to sleep in her bed and I'm move back in mine.. I laid next to her and put my arm around her.. just then I felt the hardest kick I have ever felt in my life(even not it was still the hardest kick) it wasn't in my tummy either it was down between my legs sort of like Mr Man was trying to put his foot right out of me. At that point my water broke all over Princess bed. I thought at 1st that Mr Man had kicked my bladder and i had peed.. then I went into the bathroom and found out it was indeed not pee but My water had truly broke. This was at 3am.. I got out of the bathroom and got to do what you see in movies and on tv I got to turn on the bedroom light and wake up DH saying "Honey It's time" and yes he acted all frantic just like you see in the movies.. he was rushing to get dress and I was calling the doctor, We also had it planned that we would call my grandparents if I went into labour in the middle of the night so they could come and stay with Princess. Grandma lives 5 minutes away from us.. ONLY we called there house 4 times and noone answered there phone.. Guess they were deep in sleep. So we called my parents who live 30 minutes away.. So they meet us at the hospital. Silly me thought I could change my wet cloths and use a maxi pad to stay dry on my way to the hospital.. UMMMMMMMMMMM no.. when we got there I had soaked though the towel I was sitting on and looked like I peed myself as I walked into the hospital.
We got there just around 3:30am. I was still not having any contractions that I would have counted as labour. Honestly if my water wouldn't have broke I never would have known i was having a baby.. my contractions were not regular they were coming about 15 mins, then 20 mins then 25 mins then 15 mins then 25 mins then 20 min then 15 mins.. They never once got closer then 15 mins apart and they were not extremely strong. This ended up being a very good thing. You see with every contraction I had Mr Man's heartbeat would drop to 50 or lower, If I stayed on my back it wouldn't come back up, so I ended up having to stay on my leftside thoughout the whole birth. To speed this story up.. yes I did have an epidural around 7:30am and when the doctor checked me at 11:30am I still was not ready to push, so the doctor left the hospital to go back to his office. by noon though the nurse checked me and I was there, she said go ahead and give us a push.(the doctor was not there) I gave a push
and Mr Mans head came 1/2 way out. The nurse starts screaming "OMG STOP PUSHING" and she takes her hand and pushes Mr Man back up in me and tells me whatever I do DO NOT PUSH. They get on my phone and they are screaming at the nurses at my OB's office to get him over here now there is no time he needs to be here now. All sorts of nurses and doctors are running in and out and all around my room they were bringing a little incubator and I was scared out of my mind. What was running though my mind is "no I can't lose this baby it took me to long to get pregnant with him, he has to be ok"( think I forgot to mention it took us over 2 years and a year of that on fertility pills each month in order to conceive Mr Man in the 1st place. When my doctor got there he was in a suit getting ready to go to some doctor meeting or something he was all decked out and he was ticked.. He was ticked that they didn't call him before the nurse had me push the nurse was trying to throw a grown on him and he took it and smacked it to the ground used a few choice words and said he didn't have time for that. he ran right over to me and told me to push with that push Mr Mans head came out and he had me stop and he was rushing around and then the nurse said "did you get it" and the doctor said "yes two of them" AT that point My DH fell over onto the chair and said "twins" The doctor started LOL and said "no the cord was just around his neck twice" Then I gave one more push and his arms were out the doctor had me reach down to touch him because he wasn't crying and i was freaked out. He then had me put my hands under his arms and pull Mr Man out of me.. Talk about an odd feeling, pulling your own baby out of yourself. but that was all i got to see or touch of Mr Man because he was barely breathing and they had to rush him off and get him breathing and put on oxygen for about 30 to 40 minutes.. But after that Mr Man was perfectly fine
This if Mr Man at about 30 to 40 minutes old, if you see he was starting to get color back in his face and hands when he was born he was pretty much blue. This is the picture of when they brought him back to me and placed him in my arms for the very 1st time. This picture is of big sister Princess with Mr Man when he was about 4 hours old.
OH yeah.. Mr Man was born at 12:10pm on November 15, 1999(15 days early just like his big sister was) he was 6 lbs 2oz and 20 inches long.

My Next baby was Sweet Pea.. I'll type out her whole birth story on a different day. this was her hospital picture when she was 2 days old.
A quick recap of her story is I ended up in labour with her 4 weeks early was in the hospital for 12 hours with contraction every minute to two minutes lasting over a minute long and I started to dilate and they were able to stop my labour and sent me home on bedrest. For the next whole week I was having contractions pretty much every 5 to 10 mins apart.. On January 28, 2002 around 5pm they were every 2 minutes apart for 2 hours at which point I had to go back to the hospital.. I got there about 8pm After a long but not very hard labour they ended up having to give me pitocen at 8am on January 29, 2002 around 10am they went ahead and broke my water and Princess was born after only 2 pushes at 2:10pm on January 29, 2002 She was 6lbs 3 oz and 19 inches. Making her my biggest baby weight wise and shortest baby height wise.. and she was my longest labour of all 4 kids.. but since I just wrote out the big long story of Mr Man.. I'll save all the details of her birth for later. :)
Since I don't have a scanner and I didn't have any new born naked at the hospital picture online that i can find the next two pictures of her was on the day I brought her home from the hospital..
This is Sweet pea laying next to Princesses baby doll.
Here is Sweet Pea with her big sister Princess 6 years old big brother Mr Man 2 years old and Sweet Pea was 10 days old.

My last birth story.. I have already wrote a short version of it in a post from the past. You can read about Little Man's birth Here.
Here is Little Man at about 20 to 25 minutes old
He was born May 14, 2005 He came 15 days early. but he was 7 lbs 9oz and was 21 1/2 inches tall.
This is Little Mans hospital pic at three days old.

he was my biggest baby and the only one who wasn't delivered vaginally, he ended up an emergency c-sect.. This also made him the only baby I had to be cut with. with the older 3 I didn't tear or need cut at all so there was never any stitches until the c-sect.

So there you have my 4 birth stories..

To travel back in time with other and there birth stories.. go over to My Life As Annie and join us.
