Time Travel Tuesday

Here is what Annie had for us today
"This week
we're traveling back to our most memorable Halloween. Did you dress up and go door to door growing up? What was your favorite costume?"

I don't know if I have one Halloween that just stands out as memorable more so then others.
Halloween 1974 I was almost two years old On Oct 31st. My mom dressed me up as a lion a homemade costume she made me and took me out trick or treating. She must have done way to much walking with me because she ended up in labor with my sister. On the next day November 1, 1974 I was no longer an only child I had a new baby sister.

Another one which I guess stands out is when I was in kindergarten, once again mom made my costume. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.. ONLY it was a little hard getting on and off the bus with it.. Here it is take a look. the year was 1978
Another fun Halloween was 1982.. My sister and I had our birthday party on Oct 31st. My sister's birthday as I said was November 1st and mine is November 9th. So we often shared birthday parties. This year we made our birthday a costume party. I'm went as strawberry shortcake this year. To answer more of the questions.. Yes I did dress up, but we could not dress up in anything scary or that wasn't very Christian like(using this wording because I don't want to end up with some weird people finding my blog while doing Google searches, this is also why I'm not going to give examples of what we couldn't dress as)
Yes we did go out door to door trick or treating. I'm not really sure what my favorite costume was. I went as a Lion, Casper
a princess,
a Bible, strawberry shortcake(which at the time I thought was my favorite outfit because it was my only store bought one) When I was a little older I went as an old women. This was my last year or trick or treating with my sister and brother and my mom.. I did go two times after I was a teen, with a group of kids. The 1st year I was in 7th grade and went as a punk rocker I guess.. I wore a funky skirt, leg warmers, and a mixed matched shirt and had hot pink hair. we only went down one road and that was the road the church was on because we were on our way to a costume party with our teen group. Then when I was a freshmen in high school me, my sister and my friend dressed up as the 3 blind mice hit a few roads and then went to a Halloween party at my boyfriend(at that time) church.

So there you have it my time travel for today..
Happy Tuesday everyone.

Great post! I loved the story of your mom walking so much she went into labor.

I like your birthday/costume party. I remember those old plastic masks- Halloween customes have sure advanced.

You and your sister look lovely in your last trick and treat together.
