How I Spent Friday.

This is what happens when you have more cloths then you do space. This is what had become of Princess and Sweet Peas room.. You see my mom and grandma buys more cloths then my kids will ever need. I am running out of space. Before school started we got ride of everything that wouldn't fit the girls what you see here is all the stuff that still fits them.
95% of the mess you see here in the girls room are cloths that we just didn't have a place to put them so we started loading them in baskets and such but this is what there room was looking like.. 5% is toys from sweet pea
So today my mom came over. She and I started digging in, sorting cloths and getting rid of stuff I didn't think we needed.. For Sweet Pea I just did the sorting and tossing and I ended up with 2 trash bags full of cloths to be removed from my house(don't know what to do with them yet. They are size 3's 4's and 5's if anyone close to me know of anyone who could use them let me know)
Since Princess is older and I'm not sure what she wanted to keep and what she didn't I just sorted her cloths and let her go though them once she got home from school. With her help we got rid of alot of her stuff also(size 10's and 12's if anyone here knows of anyone who needs them)
Mom and I started this task at 11:30am and finished at 6:30pm taking a break to eat lunch..
But here are The after shots.
Princess wanted me to add here that the loft bed is hers and the bottom full size bed is Sweet Pea's she didn't want any of her friends(though I don't think any of her friends reads my blog LOL) to think all those baby dolls and stuffed animals on the bottom was hers 8)The room could still be neater, and the girls still have more cloths then they will need. Princess has 8 dresser drawers fill of cloths and her whole rack in the closet filled(there are two full size racks in there she gets one) Sweet Pea has 6 drawer filled and most all of her closet rack filled.

But hey us girls can't have enough cloths........ OR Can We??????

I need to do the same thing in Izzy's room tomorrow. She has outgrown so many of her things we need to weed out the too small clothes. I did a very brutal weeding of Emelia's clothes about a month ago and really could do it again. When they are growing it is a never ending job keeping their clothes organized, but you're right... your girls have a lot of clothes :o)!

Wow - that is an amazing change. I bet the girls were thrilled with their new room.

I don't know if you have a singles mom group in your church - or know of a family that could use a little help, but perhaps they would have daughter that would fit in those sizes. After my garage sale I ended up giving two garbage bags to my daycare, who gave them to two families that were going through some really hard times. (I didn't want them to know the clothes/winter coats, boots, etc came from me)

Girls sure like their clothes. My daughter has heaps and my son is more functional! You guys did a great job!! Thanks for popping over and sharing about your dream. That must have been so hard (well I don't have suitable words) regarding Alyssa. My SIL lost her daughter Aimee on 8th October 2005. She was born 12th October 2004 and wasn't well from the beginning, most of her life was spent in Hospital - they never found out exactly what was wrong with her. She stopped breathing 7 times in her life and was recussed 6 times back to life, but the 7th she did not make it back. The funeral was held on what would have been her 1st birthday. When I hear Sarah McLachlan's song "Angel" I still struggle not to cry. They have gone on to have a new baby - a boy born last month, and a welcome little brother for the oldest sister who turns 5 this week. Thanks for sharing and sorry for rambling here.

It's like one of the shows on TV! Very impressive! I have had the same problem with my boys clothes. I scaled down when we moved a few months ago. {and with the help of my mom too...:o)}I know how good it feels for you to see these after picture.

Sadly, that is what my room looks like. I think we have the girls' room together. Can your mom come to my house?
