Thursday Thirteen(Potty Training)
Yesterday was day 13 of Potty Training Little Man. I mean I have been working at it(if you want to call it that) for a year. I haven't been pushing I would just sometime ask him if he wanted to go pee pee in the potty, most of the time his answer would be no and I wouldn't push.. I have manage to teach 3 older ones before him But I had all 3 of them trained well before 3 years old. Princess was 2 years 4 months when she was both poo and pee, day and night trained. Mr Man was 2 1/2 years old pee, 2 years 11 months poo. And Sweet Pea was 2 years 4 months pee trained and 2 1/2 years old poo trained. So having Little Man turn 3 years old on the 14 of this month and not potty trained worried me a bit. BUT his doctor and his speech therapist both told me that due to his speech delay I should except a potty training delay also.
I continue to ask him if he had to go sometimes he would say yes and go pee other times he would just pee in his diaper(pull ups) he wouldn't even try to go #2 on the potty (only did it one or two time ever and that was from the time he was 1 years old on)no matter what I offered him. I'm not one to force a kid to sit for hours and hours on the toilet trying to make them go and I'm also not one to look at the clock ever 10 to 15 minutes and pick the kid up to use the bathroom.. I figured when they were ready to go they would come and tell me, or at least that is how my older 3 were and they all trained easily. But I was starting to worry about Little Man. He turned 3 on May 14, 2008 after all and now he was 3 and still in pull ups.. YIKES.. Then it happened.. It really Happened..
On Friday May 16, 2008 we were in the hotel room(you can read about that trip Here) changing to go to the water park so he was running around bare bottomed and next thing you know I could smell that he might have to go to the bathroom, So I asked him if he had to go, he said NO but then continued on pass me to go hide between the bed and the wall.. I knew if I didn't grab him he was going to make poo on the floor.. So I picked him up placed him on the potty and he told me to "get out mom" so I did and closed the door behind me when I went to check on him, he was done, he did it... I went in the potty..
ONLY this time he thought it was cool and has continued to pee and poo in the potty ever since.. Today is day 13.. So I give you a different sort of list today.. the list of days Little Man has been potty trained with only two pee accidents and on poo accident.
Day 1 May 16, 2008
Day2 May 17, 2008
Day3 May 18, 2008
Day4 May 19, 2008
Day5 May 20, 2008
Day6 May 21, 2008
day 7 May 22, 2008
Day8 May 23, 2008
Day9 May 24, 2008
Day10 May 25, 2008(one pee accident)
Day11 May 26, 2008(one poo accident)
Day12 May 27, 2008(one pee accident)
Day13 May 28, 2008
I think the accidents on the 25, and 26 came from traveling in the van for hour and hours on there mini vacation with grandma. The 27 accident came because he was too busy watching the "bob the builder" road workers outside our window "eat up our road" as they were tearing up the road doing the pipe work and making us a new road out side our house. He started to pee in his underpants and Yelled "oh no, me pee pants" and then he ran to the bathroom and finished on the potty. So over all, I say we are doing well on this Potty Training Thing.
Happy Thursday everyone.

Being done in 13 days is very impressive. I hope it continues to go well. I think Aaron might be ready to dump his pull ups at night but I am nervous to make the jump.
Wow, sounds like he's doing great! I need to get on the ball and get Becca potty trained. The silly thing is that she wants to be - it's just me that's avoiding it. :)
Happy TT! I'm glad that you got the potty training done in only 13 days. Hope to see you at my 3rd edition about J.R. Ward at Talk About My Favorite Authors blog.
I cannot tell a lie, I am so GLAD to be far past the training years.
Happy TT, Hope you'll visit my 34th T13...Weird Word Verifications" at The Cafe.
Congrats to the "big boy"! I don't miss those days at all. :) Our older son was difficult--he was ready when he was around 2, but we were moving, and it was so much easier to just deal with the diapers. By the time the move was over, he wasn't interested anymore, and it was an uphill battle. *sigh* I swear, kids have their own schedules for these things.
Don't read my post today because it totally contradicts what I am about to say to you. They always do it in THEIR time not YOUR time. But they do it and that's what matters.
We are on day 2 of no diapers for my daughter...oy vey! They say girls are supposed to be easier, but they never mention stubborn girls...
sounds like it is going well! yeah!
Yay for your little man!! That's awesome! I'm trying to Potty Train Kya right now too! Funny, as I just posted about it too! Good luck and I hope he keeps doing so well!!
