Weekend Recap (Feb 7-9,2008)

Now on to my Weekend Recap.. My weekly post where I share all the fun and not so fun stuff we did over the weekend. Feel free to share your weekend also, either in my comment section or at your own blog, just let me know if you did so I can stop over and read yours..

Friday morning I woke up to a nice surprise NO SNOW.... You see they were calling for this big snow storm to hit us and I thought for sure the kids were going to have yet another snow day off school.. BUT School was on and we were all happy because it was Grandparents Day at Mr Man's and Sweet Pea's elementary school. The grandparents were invited to breakfast with the kids at the school in the morning and then to walk though the book fair with them(Yeah they know how to make the money bring a grandparent in) and visit in there class rooms a bit. My kids had 3 grandparents with them.. We had planned on 4, but my MIL thought the roads were going to be bad so called us up on Thursday to say she wasn't making it.. So Friday morning my Mom, and my Grandma and Grandpa(my dad's parents, the kids great grandparents) went to school with Sweet Pea and Mr Man. My mom took her camera but only remembered to take one picture and here it is.

After the grandparents were dismissed and the kids got back to there normal school day, my mom came over and we took Little Man and went shopping.. I found a cute pair of shorts for Princess, we are going to need warmer weather close for spring break in TX. We SOOOOOOO don't need them here, that is for sure. Before we got out of the 1st store the snow had started coming and coming down hard, So we scraped the plan of going to Kohls and the Mall(which I really need to get to I still need Easter cloths for Princess and Easter spring/summer church shoes for the girls) and just made one last stop because my mom needed to pick a few things up before heading back home. That one last stop did Little Man in. Poor little sleepy thing stayed asleep thought out the store and woke up when we walked out the door and all that nasty blowing cold white stuff hit him. I honestly thought they would let school out early but they didn't..

Once school was over we waited and waited.. You see Princess had there last basketball tournament of the year set for this weekend, and the team was told at school that the coach would call them if it was cancelled.. The weather was awful, the roads were worst.. and there was no call from the coach.. about 10 minutes before we were to have to leave to drive the the town North of us the phone rang.. It was the coach.. I just knew she was going to tell it it was off.. BUT SHE DIDN'T.. crazy I tell ya, she was calling to make sure Princess was going to make it because 4 of the girls parents said there was no way they were heading out on these roads so she was just making sure she had enough for a team. Now if it was just me driving, NO we would not have been going.. but DH works so far from home and with the snow we have had this year he has got use to driving in this mess, so we headed out to the game... It was really scary driving at 1st but once we got out of town the roads were great just wet, The town north of us on the lake didn't get the storm we got here, the storm we got was coming from the south and didn't make it up there.

I'm so glad we were crazy enough to go.. It was a really good game.. Princess started once again and played pretty much the whole game again. We ended up winning 38-12.

When the game was over the 2nd storm was here, Here being both the town we were in and our town.. and driving home was a slow go.. the blowing and drifting was just super fun to drive though.

Saturday morning I woke up looked out the back window and this is what I saw. What you are looking at is my small back yard, our driveway a road.. what you see is snow and more snow.. that tall pile of snow with a little bit of grey in it is my van. Those bigger trees are my neighbors tree, that would be my neighbor across the street.. But you can't find the street.. I turned on the TV and the police were breaking though the cable every hour the whole day, telling people not to be out on the roads unless it was an emergency. Which wouldn't be a problem for us, unless there was an emergency because they didn't plow either of our roads(I live on a corner) until ~*2AM*~ Sunday. DH and I spent the whole morning digging the van out of the snow and clearing just enough of the driveway to get the van out if need be. We spent 2 hours doing it the 1st time and I lost track of how many hours the rest of the time, but DH went out 8 times from the time we woke up in the morning till the time we went to bed. These pictures were taken 1st thing in the morning.. it continued to snow and blow(they called it a blizzard) the rest of the day, I think it stopped snowing for the very 1st time(since Friday morning) around midnight. Needless to say Princess's basketball tournament Saturday game was cancelled. So while DH and I moved snow the kids spent there time digging tunnels though the big drifts. Someone in the comment section said to me, that they hope I get more time at home then I did last weekend.. Well there wish came true.. We didn't leave the house(well except to go in the yard) all day Saturday.

In between all the snow and more snow and more snow.. my blog got a new look, Don't you just Love it.. I do.. My friend Jo-lynne aka DCRMOM has got into the blog designing world.. didn't she do a great job.. I mentioned that at 2AM the plows made it down our road.. I had just went to bed and next thing you know I hear this awful noise and see lights shining though my bedroom window, so I look out and these two snow plow trucks are getting stuck in the super deep snow.. I waited till they got the side road cleared then I jumped out of bed, I wanted to go see if it was still snowing so I turned on the back porch light and it wasn't. BUT the way the light was hitting the snow it was so pretty.. So like any good blogger I put on my boots and grabbed my camera.. DH was LOL at me outside in my PJ's, and my boats(no coat) taking pictures of the snow at 2AM. Let him laugh.. dontcha think this is pretty.

Sunday morning church was cancelled because of the roads and the snow. We knew this before going to bed so we didn't set an alarm and just slept till we woke up.. Normally the latest any of us would sleep without setting an alarm is 9am.. and most days more like 7:30 or 8am with the kids waking us up.. BUT not today, not with the time change.. I opened up my eyes and saw the clock and it said 10AM... OH NO!!!!! Princess's Basketball that got called off on Saturday was to be at noon today if it was still on and she has to be there 30 minutes early and on a good day it is a 20 to 25 minute drive.. So after finding out it was still on, we woke everyone up.. and rushed rushed rushed.. eat breakfast, get dress, packed up the van and away we went on the road by 11AM. The roads were so much nicer then they were on Friday night.. but still snow covered but we didn't see the accidents like we were seeing on Friday night.We were playing the 1st place team in our league they normally Kill us.. sad to say but true.. When we played them last I think we lost by 40 some points.. We played well today Really well.. at the end of the 1st quarter it was 4-8 but after that it went down hill.. half time they were up by 20. After the 1/2 we played even better.. not to good at getting the ball into the hoop because they stopped us each time.. but we held them better then we have in the last 2 years. So while Princess was playing.. here is the rest of the family(well I'm behind the camera so no pics of me this weekend LOL)

We ended up losing the game but only by 25 points.. Which is great.. The tournament was to end today but with no games being played on Saturday the girls have another game tomorrow night. After the game we had a nice lunch and then went grocery shopping for the week.. Got home and put the food away and had enough time to turn around before church/Awanas.. I ended up in the nursery tonight, the lady who was to be in there didn't show. It was a good thing anyways seeing how Little Man was having no part of leaving his mommy.. I don't think he is feeling all that great.. After church we had dinner and got the kids ready for bed and that was my weekend.. Even with all the snow it was a nice weekend.. How was your weekend??

Weekend Recap(Feb 29 - March 2,08)

Here we are another weekend gone. This weekend wasn't too extremely busy. I got some time at home this weekend which hasn't happened the past few weekends. On Friday afternoon DH and I, along with Little Man went and got groceries.. Came home made lunch and tried to get Little Man down for a nap. ONLY he wasn't having any part of a nap, this has been happening more and more lately. When school was over and Mr Man and Sweet Pea got home I feed them an early dinner. Then Princess got home and she changed her cloths and ate her dinner and we were off.

We took Mr Man over to spend the night with my grandpa and we picked up my grandma. We(DH, Grandma, Princess, Sweet Pea, Little Man and I)went to Princess basketball league tournament. It started at 7pm but Princess needed to be there at 6:30pm So we left town at 5:45pm to get there.

Princess was a started and played all of but a minute of the 1st half she did really well and so did the team. It was a close game though out the whole game.

Remember I told you Little Man didn't get a nap?? Well on the way to the game he had fell asleep in the carseat, so when we got there I stayed out in the van with him for that half hour before the game started and I carried a sleeping little man into the game when I went in. He woke up just for a few minutes and then slept the whole first half of the game. Grandma wanted to hold him since she doesn't get to hold my sleeping boy very often since when he is awake he is always on the go. Here is a short clip of the game.

In this shot here Princess had just shot the ball waiting for it to fall in. She is the 3rd girl from the left in the blue. Sadly they lost and knocked out of the league tournament. Next weekend they are in an extra tournament there coach got them into.. So they have one more week of there basketball season for the 2007/2008 school year.

After the game Princess went and spent the night with her friend from the team JW and Mr Man spent the night with my grandma and grandpa and Sweet Pea went home from the basketball game with my parents to spend the night.. So DH and Little Man and I were home alone.

Saturday morning felt weird, It was the 1st time since November that NO ONE had a basket ball game in the morning.. So the fact that I could sleep in(well to 8:30am) and not have to rush and get dress felt very odd to me. So in the morning I took it slow.. slow to wake up, slow to eat, even took a nice long shower after breakfast. Then I went and picked up a few items that I forgot to get when i was out shopping on Friday and I also looked around for the boys Easter outfits, Now I have everyone clothed for Easter except Princess must find her an outfit soon.

When I got home Princess had made it home and it was time for lunch so we ate and at 1:45pm my Parents came over and had Mr Man and Sweet Pea with them(they stopped by grandma's and got Mr Man)

Dad was over to see if he could clean out my dryer vent because my clothes weren't drying and air wasn't blowing outside when I turned the dryer on. and then he was going to try to get our computers networked so we can be online on both computers at the same time. Mom was with him because she was going to babysit for me while DH and I took Princess to her softball game.

Here are a few pics from the game.. I tell ya I can't wait to get the video camera back and running because the camera while it might take a few nice video clips it doesn't do action still shots very well at all. Where if I had the regular video camera working I could just video tape it all and pull still shots off of that and they look so nice that way.. unlike these ones.. but here they are none the less. Not a good week for Princess sports team the softball team lost also.. but they looked better this week then last, and Princess did really well for her 1st time pitching at the older level. Last year she played 10U and this year moved up to 12U meaning they move back farther and they use a bigger ball. This winter league she is playing on is a Jr High league so most of the girls she is playing ageist are 2 years older then she is.. but she is doing well pitching and hitting off of them.. The team she is playing the winter league for is her summer traveling tournament team, they are using this league as practices for the summer.

We got home about 6pm and Princess had a basketball team slumber party to get to over at the coaches house, and Mr Man and Sweet Pea wanted to go spend the night with my parents.. So Little Man, DH and I were home alone again.. We watched The Wedding Crashers on tv and went to bed.. oh what an exciting evening.. but it was more time at home on a weekend which I'm not use to LOL.

Sunday was church.. Only Little Man wasn't feeling to well and after I got him dress and he ate breakfast.. I was getting dress and he passed out and was sleeping when I felt him he felt like he had a fever So DH stayed home with him. I went and picked up Princess and we were off to Church. After church I had all the kids come home with me since they were gone all weekend. When I got home DH had lunch all ready to eat.. We ate and watched the UT/UK basketball game.. funny stuff I tell ya.. I didn't really watch a bit of the game.. Just Mr Man and DH.. you see Mr Man is a big UT fan while DH is an all time fan of UK.. UT won Mr Man is a happy boy.. ONLY after the game he said.. "MOM I don't feel well" sure enough he was feeling hot to the touch also..

At 3pm DH took Princess to a softball practices she had here in town.. I guess the Jr High is starting up a new league here in town playing other schools around the area. This is the 1st year that Jr High is going to have fastpitch softball, and the 1st time there is a league in the area.. We got a call(LOL more like 4 calls) asking us(more like bagging us) if Princess could play with them. Here in our town Princess isn't in Jr High yet.. In our town Jr High is 7th and 8th grade.. but this league lets 6th graders play because some of the schools have 6, 7 and 8th grade middle schools. I guess the team has been practising for a month now.. but was really without a picture they heard about Princess being a picture but didn't think to ask her.. UNTIL two weeks ago Princess and DH was at an indoor place sports place and she was there practicing with DH her pitching.. and the head Jr high coach was there and saw her pitch.. next thing you know I"m getting 3 or4 calls from him and 2 calls from the asst coach telling us they really want her on the team and that they know she is busy with basketball and her other softball team.. so if making it to practices with there team is a problem it is ok, they know she does softball year round and she doesn't even have to make the practices LOL.. This is some crazy stuff I tell ya..

So she went today to see if she wants to play with them, I think she is going too, but they are practicing three times a week and there is no way we can add that to what she is already doing.. So we might let her practise with them once a week.. There season is only a month long anyways.. They will be playing 4 weekends. a double header each weekend.. so a total of 8 games in the month of April. I think her winter league with her other team will be over then.

While they were gone my parents stopped over because Mr Man had left his Bible at there house this morning and he needed it for Awana's.. So while they were here I had my dad drive my van. On the way home from church this morning I felt a shimmy in it.. He thought I needed an alignment. So he drove me to walmart to drop off my van and then brought me back home.. Then He and mom took off shopping.. DH and Princess got home at 5:30pm and we went and got the van.. I'm not 100% sure that my problem in the van is fixed or not. Guess time will tell. After getting the van it was time to take off to church only at this point I had 3 kids not feeling well. Princess, Mr Man and Little Man. DH was going to bed since he had to work tonight So I just dropped off and picked up Sweet Pea at Awana's. When I went in to pick her up after wards.. I had all these leaders coming up to me telling me how impressed they were with her.. She had learned all the verses in her book and started the review of it where she has to say all the verses over again with NO helps or clues at all. And tonight Sweet Pea said 24 verses.. I guess they had never seen anyone say that many word perfect at one time before.. The leaders were all excited about this and Sweet Pea was all like what's the big deal I learned them all before all I had to do was say them again LOL... by next week she will have finished her whole book twice.. Not sure what she will do for the next 3 months of club. They also gave her her plaque tonight for clubber of the month.

Now we have two of them to hang up Mr Man's and Sweet Peas's, both from this year.

I'm tired and it is after 1am early Monday morning or late Sunday however you want to look at it.. BUT you see I can't go to bed.. while I was taking Sweet Pea to church at 6pm Little Man thought he would fall asleep.. he slept till 11pm and now he is wide awake and I can't get him to fall back to sleep.. I have him on the couch watching Nemo in the dark right now.. but he is still awake.. I might just grab a pillow and blanket and sleep on the floor while he watches tv.. ONLY problem is I have to get up early because I have to help in Sweet Peas kindergarten class in the morning.. so so sleepy.. I'll need tooth picks for my eyes in the morning.

Weekend Recap(Feb 22-24)

Here we are another Monday.. Is it me or do you all find as you get older the weeks seem to go faster?? I tell ya it's like I close my eyes and when I open them it's already the start of another week.

Highlights from the week.. Monday 2/18/08 kids didn't have school I blogged about our day HERE. Tuesday 2/19/08 Princess spent the night with my grandparents and DH took Mr Man and Sweet Pea to his nephew Cousin D's high school basketball tournament game(which Cousin D's team won) then he dropped Mr Man and Sweet Pea off at my parents to spend the night since it was closer for him to do that and then head right off to work, So Little Man and I had the night to ourselves. Wednesday 2/20/08 I had to take Sweet Pea to the dentist Thursday 2/21/08 Was Princess's academic challenge match I showed pictures from that HERE.

That bring us up to Friday 2/21/08 the start of this weekend Recap

The day started off bright and early with a phone call at 6am.. It was DH letting me know I could sleep in two hours longer and I didn't have to wake up(mind you I normally don't wake up till 7:30am anyways) because the kids school was on a 2 hour delay due to the snow we got overnight. Thanks Honey for waking me up at 6am to let me know I could sleep till 9:30am if I wanted too ;) Sleeping in sounded good, ONLY problem was that when the phone rang at 6am it woke up Little Man so I couldn't go back to bed even if I wanted too.

Since we had the two hour delay the kids were up and home and playing and messing up the house, sadly to say I still haven't had a chance to pick up the mess yet. But I also got to curl Sweet Pea's hair for school and she picked out a skirt and top to wear to school. She normally won't wear her dresses or skirts because she doesn't like playing on the playground in them or running around in her dress shoes.. so it is normally jeans and tennies for her.. But since she was sure there wasn't going to be outdoor recess she was thrilled to get to wear one of the new outfits she got for her birthday a few weeks ago. Here are a few pictures I took of her before she headed off to school. She is so into fashion sort of like my friend DCRMOM over at Musings of a Housewife :P

She wanted to pack her lunch that day but even with the 2 hour delay I was running behind so at lunch time I went and took her lunch to her at school. There class was just visiting the restrooms to wash there hands before lunch. Sweet pea was done and standing in line, her teacher told me I could take her into the lunchroom.. so we walked down there together and she and I were the only two in there.. She sat down and I was setting her a napkin down on the table to spread her food out on when I heard her say in her sweet little Deva 6 year old voice "OH MY GOODNESS" I said "what" she said "I would SO wear a white shirt with that jacket" I look up to see another one of the kindergarten classes entering the lunch room and Sweet Pea looking at her friend K(they have been friends for the last 4 years) K was wearing a leopard print hoodie(the jacket sweet pea was talking about) and a pink t-shirt under it.. you know the normal wear for a kindergarten.. Sometimes I think Sweet Pea is worse then her older sister about fashion LOL.

Friday after Princess got home from her weekly after school hangout.. we all loaded up the van and headed over to my grandparents house.. where Mr Man and Sweet Pea jumped out and Grandma Jumped in.. Grandpa watched those two, while Grandma, DH, Princess, Little Man and I went just over an hour away to watch the basketball game for Cousin D. It was interesting trying to keep Little Man entertained though the game, but I knew I was going to be leaving him Saturday night and I didn't want to leave him with someone babysitting him two night back to back like that. He did better then I thought he would. The game was good, sadly Cousin D's team lost so they are done for the year, well I guess since Cousin D is a senior this year he is done forever. Don't know what my IL's will do with themselves now, seeing how they won't have any high school sport to watch the grandkids play until Princess is in high school.

Saturday 2/23/08 was a fun day Princess had her last basketball game of the season(next weekend starts there tournaments) Princess got to start again and played most of the game and they WON!!!

The last quarter we were so far ahead they pulled all the starters and let the bench see some playing time. here are a few short clips from the game

After the basketball game I had some running to do, 1st stop walmart I was down to two pullups and the Little Man needed more then two. The 2nd stop I wasn't planning but I needed a video tape to tape Princess's softball game and walmart no longer carried them so it was off to Radioshack. Got that and then feed everyone lunch and packed up cloths for Mr Man, Sweet Pea, and Little Man they were spending the night at my parents that night and my mom and dad was on there way to pick them up. Next it was time to get Princess and pick up Princess's friend SF aka shorty. Princess was spending Saturday night over at Shorty's house but 1st she was going with us to Princess's 1st winter league softball game. It wasn't a pretty game.. It was the first time this team has played as a team.. They have been practicing once or twice a month since September but this was the 1st time to put it into action.. They are a 12 year old team and this winter league is a Jr High league for 6th, 7th and 8th graders.. The game Saturday was against a 14U team who has been playing together for the last 2 years.. It wasn't really bad but we lost 8 to 1.

Even though they lost Princess had a good game. She was only one of two girls on the team who could hit this picture(the girl was good and super fast she is an 8th grader) Princess didn't get to pitch in the game because we ran out of time. The indoor leagues you only play an hour and when your time is up your time is up and the coach started her daughter as picture.. I think Princess will get to pitch in the next game.

Sunday 2/24/08 we pickedPrincess up from Shorty's house on our way to church.. After church DH and Princess had to go for uniform fittings(for softball) and then they did the grocery shopping.. I took Mr Man, Sweet Pea and Little Man to my parents, we ate lunch and then I took them sled riding. There is a super big hill for that in my parents town.. but it was warm today and all the snow had melted off of it.. but some of the litter(but still big) hills still had plenty of snow on them.. so the kids had a blast, even Little Man was doing down the hill by himself and LOL the whole way.. he needed a bit of help getting back up the hill but he had a ball. Only Little Man didn't get his nap, so while I was on my way home to get to Awana's He fell asleep.. so I dropped him off at home and took the kids to church.. (um guess I should add here that DH was home sleeping with Little Man he wasn't alone LOL) Little Man didn't end up waking up till 7:30pm after everyone was back from awana's. So we feed him some super and got everyone ready for bed. Got DH off to work and the middle two kids and I started reading a new book, got about 4 chapters into it and sent them to bed. Little Man was up well past midnight. ~sigh~

Weekend Recap (Feb 8-10,08)

I'm sort of really bummed. You see I had a fun weekend and even remembered to take some pictures and a few video clips for every event we had going on. I thought it would brighten up my Weekend Recap post and be fun to see while you read. BUT!!!!!!! sadly I can't fine my wire for my camera and here I sit with no way of moving these fun pictures from my camera over to my blog. I have been looking for the wire for over 24 hours and I think I might have lost it last weekend at Princess's basket ball game. I dropped my purse under the bleachers and the camera and wire was in it at the time. I thought I had everything though when I crawled under to get my purse.. In any case here is my weekend recap without pictures.
Friday morning I did laundry, picked up the house, ran the sweeper in all rooms and mopped the floors. Then my mom came over and I fixed lunch and fed my two younger lids(Sweet Pea was home from school again because she was running a fever not sure if that was part of the ear infection that kept her home on tuesday and Wednesday or if she picked up some virus while at the doctors Tuesday)
After lunch my mom stayed with the kids while I went to my dentist appointment.. where after 6 or 7 shots to numb me(OUCH) I had 3 teeth filled.. Have I ever mentioned just how much I do not like going to the dentist?????? I got home right before school left out for the day and though my teeth didn't hurt my whole left side of my face top and bottom was numbed and had no feeling and I could hardly talk, it was so funny.
After school Mr. Man showered up he had a fun night planned. and Princess went to her normal hang out and then to her friend KR house. Next it was time for dinner so I made dinner and got everyone feed. Then Princess called wanting to know if I could take her and her friend TH to the basketball game(since I was going anyways) and then afterwards if she could spend the night with TH. sure dear no problem.
Mr. Man's big plans for the night was to go with his teachers and the kids in his class who earned this trip to the High School Basketball game by being good and not getting any warnings or anything at all at school for like a month or two.. I don't remember what it was.. but Mr. Man hasn't got a warning since the 1st week of Kindergarten and he is a 2nd grader now so we knew he would earn this trip LOL.
So off to the game we went. Dropped Mr Man off with his teacher and his class then I went and found my grandma and Uncle and sat with them.. I knew princess would be running off with all her friends so I was glad Grandma went to the game this week or I would have been sitting alone seeing as DH was at home with Little Man and our sick little girl.
It was a good game our team killed there team.
After the game I dropped Princess and her friend off at the friends house and came home to get DH off to work(he had to work Friday night because they took last sunday night off for the super bowl) and beside putting kids to bed and relaxing the rest of the night that was my friday.
Saturday morning just relaxed around the house.. DH came home from work made us breakfast and then took a two hour nap. by noon we were on the run.
Mr Man had his last basketball game of the season at 12:30pm his team won 6 to 4 and Mr Man had 4 points.. he ended the season as high scorer for his team They ended there season 4 and 2
Right after Mr Man's game I came home grabbed a few more toys and snacks and it was off to Princess's game. Her game started at 2pm when I got there I found out that the school they were playing had two teams so our girls were going to play both teams as a double header.. (our school only has one girls 6 grade team and you had to try out for it)
Princess I wasn't sure how well she was going to do. seeing how she left the house for school on friday morning and here it was 2pm on saturday and she hadn't been home once for any sort of rest. Her and her friend TH stayed up way past midnight and then silly girls woke up at 7am.... don't ask me why.. then they hung out together till my grandma(who offered to get princess so she could stay at her friends longer with out having to go to her brothers game) picked princess up feed her lunch and got her to the school for her basketball game
BUT I guess this lack of sleep and running around works well for my Princess because she had her best games of the season.. 2 game they won them both and in those 2 games Princess scored 12 points. Even got her starting spot back(which she had lost after the 1st 2 games when she wasn't scoring) She played pretty much the whole games of both games.. with very little bench times.. when she did get to sit she was happy and ready to sit to rest a bit and get a drink... best two games of the year for her so far.

We got home from her basketball at 4:30pm and by4:45pm she and DH was on the road to get her to her fastpitch traveling tournament team coaches house for sliding practices(on the hardwood floors LOL) and a white board practices and pizza party.(which Princess was late for since it started at 5pm and went till 7pm)
While they were gone.. my parents came over. My Dad had bought my mom a lap top for Valentines day so he was giving us the computer that was in there bedroom. IT is a MUCH better computer then we had.. It is pretty much brand new he has only owned it for a month maybe two now. Got to love hand me downs like that. He also gave us the desk that they bought when the got the computer.. So I put that desk and our old computer in our family/dinning room area and got the new one set up in the normal spot.. we were working on getting the wireless network set up for the two.. ONLY I'm missing the operating system disk for the old computer so we are at a stand still until I find it.. or something.. but hopefully it will be up and running soon then I won't have to give up the computer to share with the kids LOL.

When DH and Princess came home last night about 8pm my parents were still here so we ordered some pizza and all enjoyed that. Then Mr. Man and Sweet Pea packed up there church cloths and went to spend the night with my parents. This was about 10pm and at that time it had just started to snow and get cold. After they left I was up till after midnight with Little Man, due to Princess's basketball games Mr Man missed his nap. At 5pm he passed out on the floor while he was playing. I was hoping to keep him awake until 7pm and then put him down for the night but it didn't work that way.. He slept from 5pm to 8pm and then woke up and stayed awake until about 12:40am I was so sleepy..

So Sunday when I got the phone call that due to weather we weren't having church.. part of me was very glad about that and I climbed back into bed and slept another hour. IT was freezing her today.. windchill in the -20 very bitter cold. But this afternoon we did head out to get groceries in a neighboring town.. Since we were heading that way.. Princess wanted to stop at the indoor softball building there and work on pitching the ball for a bit. So we left her about noon and when we got there Little Man had fallen asleep.. So he and I napped in the van for 30 minutes while DH and Princesses went in. When they were done we took a drive to the lake to see just what it looked like all frozen and with white out conditions due to the very strong wind we were having. It looked really pretty.. but boy was it cold. Then we got some lunch and picked up our groceries for the week.. Got home about 4:30pm and said.. it was too cold to go back outside by this time our true temp was 1 degree and I don't even know what the windchill temp was reading.

Meanwhile my parents who had took my middle children to spend the night, had planned on bring them to church so I could bring them home.. but there was no church so.. they still had my kids.. at 1st dad had planned to bring them over and work on getting our network set up.. but since we are missing the disk(which he thinks he has in a ton of boxes he has filled with disk but he hasn't came upon it yet) he thought he would take Mr Man and Sweet Pea out to the dollar theater to see the new Veggie tails movie.. On there way home from the movie.. they called me and told me they had forgot Sweet pea's medicine for her ear infection so they were going to there house to get it.(out of there way) Then once they got there they called to ask me what I thought the chances were of the kids having school tomorrow.. which I told them I was pretty sure it will be called off if nothing more then for the bitter cold temps and the kids that have to walk to school.. So they said they were just going to keep Mr Man and Sweet Pea another night so they didn't have to head back outside.
NOW(sunday night at 11pm) I sit here hoping they do call off school or I have to get up really early drive 30 minutes to my parents to pick the kids up and then 30 minutes back for them to go to school. Well even a 2 hour delay will be nice. I see alot of schools have already called it off they are running across the TV screen.. but our school always waits till the last minute.

Weekend Recap (Feb 1-3, 2008)

I was going to start this post like this.
"Another busy weekend here in our house", but then it hit me all my weekends are busy and I'm sure my readers are tired of me saying that.. So I'll just start in on my weekend.

Friday was the 1st day of Feb 2008. Woke up in the morning to see that the kids were on a 2
hour delay due to all the ice we had, so I went back to bed, when I woke up an hour later I saw that there 2 hour delay had been changed to then having no school.. normally I live for snow days(or in this case ice day) I enjoy the time spent with the kids and getting to lay around in our PJ's as long as we want to.. ONLY I had so many plans for this day that I didn't know what I was going to do.. Then it got better because DH called and said he was working overtime.. So I had to make some phone calls and change some of my plans.. One of the things I had to cancel was Coffee with Krista (which is coffee with one of our MOPS mentors which my name was picked for) Poor Krista has been trying so hard to get me some coffee and This has just been my crazy time of year(like it is ever not crazy LOL) but with all the doctors, dentist, birthday parties, weekend trips, and school activities and sports for kids, not only have I not had a free hour for coffee, I haven't even made a MOPS meeting.
Anyways I spent Friday trying so hard to clean the house for the big family birthday party and getting to the store for all the stuff I needed for the party for Friday Night.. Getting a house clean and keeping it that way is a little hard with all 4 kids home and DH being gone but most of it got done. Then There was baths for all kids and getting Little Man down for a nap(not a easy task when his older sibs are home playing) Then it was off to Sweet Pea's kids birthday party.
This party couldn't have gone better.. Everyone showed up and everyone had fun and Sweet Pea had a blast.
I left the house at 4pm and got back home around 7:30pm from this party. We had these 5 girls plus my other 3 kids at burger king and everyone enjoyed themselves. towards the end of the party DH took my older two with him to a high school basketball game and after the game Princess spent the night at my parents since she had a free Saturday(free meaning no basketball game). DH came home with pizza. After eating pizza I had to run to Wal-mart to get all those items I needed to get for Saturdays party which I didn't have time to get earlier in the day(oh the reason I didn't do it after the party was because Little Man was cranky and I didn't want to drag him to the store Plus Sweet Pea only wanted to play with her new toys she got at her party.) I got back from Wal-mart at 11:30pm

Saturday I got up and got food together and got everyone dressed and then it was time for Mr Man's basketball game.. He scored 2 points.. giving him 12 points for the season making him the highest scorer on the team.. I don't know who is 2nd but the team only scored 6 point other then what Mr man scored so they haven't been scoring very much.. They are now 2 and 2.
Got home one hour before the party.. I still had cleaning to do and it took 45 minutes to get it all done.. YICKES.. then I got the kids cleaned up some and we kissed Little Man's nap goodbye.. Then everyone started coming and we had a good time with family while celebrating the girls birthdays.
After the girls party, DH and the two older ones went to another high school basketball game I was planning on going with them but with Little Man not getting his nap and all I changed my mind. Also after the party Sweet Pea went with my parents to spend the night. So once we had the house to ourself.. Little Man and I took a shower and he pretty much had his eyes closed before I could get him PJ's on him so he was out for the night by 7:30pm I spent the rest of the night watching Lost. I had taped the 2 hours of it on Wed night and the 2 hours on Thursday and just never found the time to watch it.. It was fun sort of having the place to myself all cuddled up under my blanket laying on the couch watching tv.

Sunday woke up went to church Though my parents didn't get there with the kids for Sunday school(Sweet Pea and Mr Man ended up spending the night with them) After church my Grandparents took Mr Man, Sweet Pea and Little Man, While DH and I went with Princess to her basketball game.. it was there 1st away game of the season.. They played the best team in the league and didn't do to bad.. This was the team that beat the team that killed them last week so I thought it was going to UGLY.. but the girls played well. They lost but they weren't killed. Princess had 9 rebounds, 3 assist 2 fouls and 2 points and got to play pretty much the whole game. After the game we ate a late lunch and picked up Little Man from grandma's house brought him home and I laid down with him so he would take a nap This was at 3:30pm next thing you know I'm waking up and it is 5:30pm OOPES.... I didn't mean to fall asleep.
I hurried up and got things together and left the house at 6pm for the superbowl party over at my grandparents house. ONLY once there I saw I forgot the diaper bag.. I though I should be ok because Little Man has been using the potty with no accidents all week long. So we ate and watched the game.. with 1 minute and 30 seconds left in the 1st 1/2 Little Man pooped himself.. OH it was a mess and I didn't have a think with me to change him.. a wash cloth was good to clean him up.. but I had no undies or pull ups.. So I just put his pants on him.. he wasn't too happy that way so before the 1/2 time was over we packed it up and left.
Came home got the kids ready for bed, Read Sweet Pea a nice book my sister got her for her birthday and watched the rest of the game. Then got online to blog about my weekend ;P
I really wish I was in bed sleeping right now because I have to work in Sweet Pea's kindergarten class tomorrow morning.. ONLY Little Man is still awake.. guess sleeping till 5:30pm for a nap will do that. He is however now willing to stay in bed so it shouldn't be too much longer till I can go to bed myself.

Weekend Recap(1/25-27/08)

Time just flies when your having fun. Seem like I was just typing out last weeks recap.
Friday I really didn't do all that much. I did laundry, cleaned the house, took care of kids the normal stuff. Friday night Princess had softball practice.

After that the catcher from her team came home with her to spend the weekend. She is the one in the light blue next to Princess in the above photo. They didn't get home till close to 9:30pm so there was only time for showers and some pizza before heading off to bed.. had to get some rest because Saturday and Sunday we were going to be going on a trip.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early, getting dress, packing up bags and loading the van. We had a few things needing to be done here in town, Like basketball games. 1st game of the day was Princess's we knew going into this game it was going to be a lose, we were playing the 1st place team.. It wasn't pretty 8 to 39 YIKES...
DH and Mr Man had to leave the game early to get him over to his game. I got to it right as it started.. Sadly his team lose also 6-8 BUT it was still a great game for Mr Man seeing as how he scored all 6 of his team points.

After his game we headed into the town I grew up in to drop Little Man off at my parents. Mom had offered to keep him but I had planned to take him with us, but thought I would do better Sunday(when I was going to be without DH help) if he wasn't with us, Plus with his ear infection he really didn't need to be in the water anyways. So we dropped him off and was on the road headed about 1 1/2 hours south. Got to the hotel and went right to the pool. spent 3 1/2 hours swimming and then walked across the parking lot to an Amish restaurant for dinner, Then it was back to the hotel for another 2 hours of swimming when they closed the pool.
Went back to our room and watched a bit of TV and then went to sleep.
Woke up this morning at 6:30am(UGH that is way to early for my liking) went down and had breakfast. At 7:30am DH, Princess and the catcher. Took off and headed south about another 30 to 40 minutes south to our state university for a Pitching clinic that her softball team was sending her too. While they were doing that.. I took Mr Man and Sweet Pea back to the room hoping they would go back to sleep for a bit but they didn't.. So I laid down 1/2 asleep 1/2 awake for an hour while they watched cartoons and while they waited for the pool to open.. at 8:30am we were off to the pool where they played and swam for another 2 1/2 hours..
At 11am I took them back to the room we all showed up packed up everything and worked on our Awana stuff until it was time to check out and then we had to wait about 20 minutes longer for DH and the girls to get back.

After they got back we headed home But we had to make stop for shopping.. I needed to get Sweet Pea's birthday gifts seeing how her birthday is Tuesday and I didn't get her anything yet. and Princess had some birthday money she wanted to use for a few new shirts. When the shopping was done we went over my parents house DH and Princess took the other girl home, while Mr Man, Little Man, Sweet Pea and I had a late lunch with my parents and I did some stuff on my dads computer(loading pictures and printing some off because Mr Man needs them for school tomorrow) Then we stopped by my IL's who had some stuff they needed us to pick up and then Got back into town right on time for PM church/ Awana. Little Man had fallen asleep on the way home and it was his only nap of the day and it was 6pm.. So I dropped the kids off Awanas then drove home and left DH with the sleeping Little man and I went back to church.
We had leftovers for dinner tonight after church and Everyone except Little Man(who didn't wake up till 7:30pm) and myself are asleep.. Wish I was asleep also.

Some of you wanted to know about Mr Man and the cyst that I posted about last week. I don't know anything yet. He will be missing school tomorrow morning because we have an appointment to see his doctor about it. I'll let you know more when I have more to tell. Thanks for keeping him in your prayers.
