Mr Man's trip to camp.

I was thinking of doing a Thursday 13 post today but I'm just not in a creative mood, and for every event I want to blog about I have more then 13 pictures so I'm skipping it..

Another thing this summer that I didn't really get to blog that much about was that Mr Man was old enough to go to camp this year. The same church camp that Princess has been going to for the last 4 years, now it was Mr Man's turn for his first trip to camp. Even better was that Mr Man won his trip to camp for free. :-) Can't remember if I mentioned that or not.. but the big VBS visitor price this year was a free trip to camp.. Mr Man was already signed up for camp anyways so while he was excited about winning the visitor contest for bible school it really wasn't much of a prices for him.. So we gave him $50 as his rewards since it was saving $300 him winning

Anyways he was really worried about going to camp.. not sure if he wanted to go because none of his friends were going, sure there were boys from church he knew going but none of his best friends were going and he didn't know if he would make friends or not with anyone and then all the normal going away for the 1st time and all stuff he was worried about..

As I was packing his cloths and the drive to the boat dock to head over to the island for camp.. he was making me feel like I was forcing him to do something he totally didn't want to do.. He kept saying "why are you making me do this" "just give my spot to Princess she wants to go again" "why do you always make me do things I don't want to do"
I honestly started to feel a little guilty, but though I knew it was just Mr Man's personality to never want to do something until I made him do it, then he normally ends up loving whatever it was I "MADE" him do.. He is sort of a perfectionist and doesn't ever want to try anything unless he knows he can do it 100% right, so I do tend to push him more then the others or he would never try anything.. After he does it once if then he doesn't like it fine..
Anyways back to the camp thing.

We get to the boat dock he was still complaining we get out of the van and his counselor comes up introduces himself helps Mr Man with his bags. I could already see a little peace spread across Mr Man's face and I felt a bit better.. While Matt(the counselor) and Mr Man loaded the bags onto the truck the rest of the boys from church got there, and they all spotted him and all screamed together "Ryan" Ry turned around and a big smile came to his face and I could tell from that moment on things were going to be just fine..
At the boat dock all the boys kept telling Mr Man, come on do this with us do that with us.. they took him in so well it made me and Mr Man at ease..
Right before the ferry left for the island, I ask him if he still wanted me to send Princess in his place and he said NO.. then I asked if he was still worried about going to camp and he looked at me like I lost my mind and he was never worried and said "No, why would I be worried" LOL

He had the best week at camp, when he came home he couldn't stop talking about it.. it has been about three weeks since he has been home and he is still talking about it every day and now counts it as his favorite place in the world :)

I sent him a disposable camera to camp, but he lost it on the last day there when they went to the beach.. so I don't have any pictures that he took, but I did buy the photo CD of pictures that the staff members took of the week.. So here is a slide show of photos I took dropping him off and picking him up and what the camp took of his time there.

I didn't do too much.. earlier in the week I went and saw the doctor for my foot/ankle and now I"m in an air cast and on an anti inflammatory and pain meds.

So I have been staying off my foot when I can.

Friday I cleaned the house and did laundry.. I went to my grandmas in the morning and helped her by cleaning off her extra bed of the cloths she has been picking up for my kids while out garage saleing this summer.. Then I picked Princess up from her friends house and came home and rested the foot again. That night Little Man spent the night at my parents house playing with my youngest niece Little E, and Sweet Pea and my older niece A spent the night with my grandma, Mr Man was still away at camp, and DH, Princess and myself went out that evening and got groceries.. While I was working though the day I was wondering if maybe I could go with the rest of the family mid week to PA. like I had planned before hurting myself.. but when the hour of walking around the grocery store was done I was in pain and knew there was NO WAY I would be able to spend the day walking around an amusement park with everyone.. I would hold them up and also be in pain.. So I'm not going.. but my kids are still going to go with my parents and my sister.. they will leave on Wed.

After groceries I came home ate dinner, took my pain meds and was asleep by 9pm. exciting don't ya think LOL..

I"m so upset it is August already.. summer has been going by way to quick.. I wish it was just the start of June again and we still had all of summer in front of us :-(

DH and Princess took off early that morning for a ball tournament.. Yes last weekend was to be the last but she was picked up by another team who needed a 1st baseman and an extra pitcher for this weekend.. so she play again.

about an hour after they left I woke up got dressed and headed out to pick up Mr Man who was getting home from camp.

The Plan was pick him up, then run to my grandma's and pick up my nieces and Sweet Pea then head out to my parents where we were going to take the boat out and go tubing.. ONLY 2 things went wrong. 1) Mr Man was so tired he didn't want to go out on the boat.. So he came home laid on the couch and slept for 2 1/2 hours. and 2) even after Mr Man woke up and said he changed his mind, my grandma had took the girls out garage saleing and didn't take her cell phone with her and they were not home in time to meet up with the others to go boating.. So I did not go out with them. later that evening once they were back from tubing and the girls back from garage saleing.. I picked up Sweet Pea and my niece A and took Mr Man and headed over to my parents to spend some time with them.. Mr Man ended up spending the night there but Sweet Pea and Little Man came home with me.. I had just got them asleep when DH came home, Princess had spent the night with one of the team members to save herself 4 hours of driving time. I was just about asleep myself then so I said hello and good night and went to bed.

DH was on the road I think like around 6am.. not Me..LOL.. I slept till the last minute I could then woke up the kids and got them dressed for church. We went to church and then spent the afternoon and most the evening over at my grandparents house where my sister and her family my brother, my uncle and my parents all were for a big family dinner/gathering.. I left there about 6:30pm and came home where I was all by my lone some took some pain meds and climbed in bed reading while I rested my foot. Mr Man and Little Man went back to my parents to spend more time with my sister and her girls.. Sweet Pea stayed at my grandparents where she was was playing with her friend and Princess and DH didn't get home till close to 12:30AM because they were at the ball field for a good long time because Princess and her team made it to the championship game and ended up winning that 1-0 with Princess being the winning run... WOO HOO... she won the championship.. she was all excited.. and I think this is the team she is going to play for for the 2010 season. Once again I was in bed pretty much out of it, the pain meds are doing that to me.. I that is how I ended my weekend..

today I'm heading over my parent house to spend more time with my sister while she is in from TX. So I'll chat with ya all in the blogging world later..

Friday September 26, 2008.. Started the day with a list of things I needed to get done. The last of Princess laundry to take with her on the Jr High church youth retreat, running to the bank, a few stops to drop off payments here and there.. back home to make sure Princess had everything she needed packed.. before you knew it, it was time to go pick Princess up from school.. she got home showered, while I got dressed a little nicer(as in combed my hair again LOL) Then It was time to run and pick up Mr Man and Sweet Pea from school.. Mr Man had show and tell and took his gold fish in so I needed to make sure he didn't drop them down the school stairs as he was exiting the building.. We got home and they changed into some play cloths.. We loaded up the van and the the 5 of us jumped in.(Little Man wasn't with us, he had spent the night with my mom after Princess's volleyball game on Thursday night and had spent the whole day Friday with my parents) We drove across town to pick up Princess's friend K.D. and we were on our way to drop the girls off at the boat dock to head over to the Island for there youth retreat weekend. We needed to be there at 5pm and they were to get on the 5:30pm boat. ONLY when that boat came it was the ferry with no cabin or seats.. Normally this isn't a big issue they just have the campers stand around the sides of the ferry and ride across the lake.. BUT on Friday the wind was so strong and the lake was so choppy That when the captain got off the boat and our kids were about to board.. he told them to stop he didn't think it was going to be safe enough to have the kids standing on that ferry seeing how the waves were splashing right over the walls of the boat. So they had to wait for the 6pm ferry which has the little cabin and a place above for the kids to sit..

I took this picture while sitting in my van.. I heard Coop say to Princess.. Hey look your mom is taking pictures.. LOL then he waved and she yelled "Mom stop"

This is Miss O. She is one of there youth leaders and there counselor for the weekend.. She was also Mr Man and Sweet Pea's kindergarten teacher. We got to the boat dock before she did and when she stepped foot out of her car, Sweet Pea spotted her and took off running across the parking lot with her arms wide open Yelling "Miss O" and she wrapped her arms around her and gave her the biggest hug ever.. what you don't understand is Sweet Pea has never done that to anyone EVER.. she is the most shy child I have and she just has never in her 6 1/2 years of life ever ran and gave an adult a hug before.. It almost brought tears to my eyes and made me wish Miss O was her teacher again this year. she has a wonderful teacher Miss B this year who was Mr Man's 1st and 2nd grade teacher so we know she is a wonderful teacher.. but Sweet Pea has come to love Miss O. Here is a shot I took while waiting for the next ferry to come.. OH yeah.. this is the lake I was about to send my baby out on.. So after they left I went to another part of the lake where I could watch the ferry cross from main land to the island. Here is Princess's ferry when it was 1/2 way to the Island.

After we left the boat dock we took a 5 minute drive over to one of the kids favorite parks to let Mr Man and Sweet Pea play for a bit. I love this area.. it is sort of like a summer resort town, so in the summer you have to pay to get into it, so we normally go in the spring and in the fall.. you know when it's free LOL.. The kids enjoyed there time on the play ground and I enjoyed my time on the lake.. The Lake was just Wild.. the waves were crashing and the wind was blowing.. it was beautiful..

After we got home from the lake on Friday we ate dinner and my parents brought Little Man home and about 8pm Mr Man and Sweet Pea went and spent the night with my grandparents. I got Little Man down and DH went to bed since he had been up over 24 hours and I laid down to watch the debate but ended up falling asleep like 5 minutes into it when I woke up the late shows were on so I went to bed.

Princess was still on the Island at the youth retreat, I did text her asked if is was ok and having fun.. the response I got back was short and sweet she wrote "yeah" and that was that.
Mr Man went out on that lovely lake on my dads boat along with my dad and grandpa to go fishing they were out all day again they didn't make it back till about 8pm.
Sweet Pea I asked her if she wanted to go with us, but she wanted to go garage saleing with my grandma and then play with her friend who is grandma's neighbor.. so that is what she did all day.
DH, Little Man and myself.. we got up and dressed and went to my IL's and visited with them for an hour or two. then stopped by and said hello to my mother. Next we stopped at the park in our parents town and let Little Man play on the playground.
I had forgot my camera, but I had the cell phone with me..

Then we went grocery shopping and came home and put groceries away.. Little Man took a nap, DH watched football and I watched Greys which I taped but didn't watch on Thursday. Then Little Man woke up, we had dinner, I took a shower and then I got a call from my dad saying they were leaving the lake and he wanted to know if Mr Man and Sweet Pea could spend the night.. So at that time I went and got there stuff packed for church and around 8pm They dropped grandpa off at home and Mr Man and Sweet Pea was off with my dad on there way to my parents house.. At that time I got Little Man bathed and ready for bed.. and started to work on getting the weekend pictures loaded into the computer, did my two Saturday post and started working on my weekend Recap post.. About 11:30 I saw that both DH and Little Man were asleep so I headed off to bed myself.

Sunday started much like any other Sunday.. get up, get dress, eat.. Sunday school, Church. Though I had to leave church by 11:30am to get to the boat dock to pick up Princess by 1pm.. It's good to have your Grandpa as your Pastor, LOL.. At about 11:20am I started to fold up my Bible, and get my stuff to quietly sneak out of the service to take off on time, when Our Pastor(Grandpa) looks at me and says in the middle of preaching. "if you wait 5 more minutes I'll be done" SNORT!!!!!!!!! At least I didn't have to leave church early.
After church Mr Man and Sweet Pea went with my parents who were going to go shopping then bring the kids back to my place.. And Little Man kept asking my grandma and grandpa if he could go to there house, So they took him.. So I was without any kids for the drive to the boat dock.
I got there before 12:30pm thinking there boat was to be there at 1pm.. ONLY I found out I was wrong.. There boat wasn't getting there till 1:30pm.. When they got off the boat we were told while our children made the ferry, there luggage did not.. So we had to wait for the 2pm boat to come to get there stuff.. Here are some pictures I took of Princess while we waited for there luggage.

And here are a few photos from the youth retreat that I found on Princess's cell phone. We got back home about 3pm and grabbed some taco bell for lunch and at 3:30pm I went to my grandma's to pick up Little Man.. Got back home a little after 4pm and at 5pm my mom brought Mr Man and Sweet Pea home we got cleaned up and dressed and it was off to PM church/awanas/youth group. Church got over early a little before 7pm Awans's got out on time 7:15pm but youth group went till 7:30pm So we didn't get home till 7:45pm..

Little Man was the only one of us who ate dinner before heading to church and it was a good thing because he fell asleep before we got home and has been sleeping ever since.. After getting home the other kids changed into PJ's while I cooked dinner, then we ate and watched the new suit life or whatever it is called where they are on a ship for school now. Then I put the kids to bed.. They don't have school in the morning but they have to wake up an hour earlier then they normally do for school, because they have 1st thing in the morning dentist appointments and our dentist is an hour away.. Then Princess has to be back to the school tomorrow afternoon to hope a bus to her volleyball game and Sweet Pea has gymnastics... busy busy..

OH YEAH!!!! my sports update for the week.. In gymnastics Sweet Pea is just about there doing a cartwheel by herself.. but doesn't have it yet.. Her hand stands are coming along nicely.. and she can do a perfect backbend, just working on the walk over from it now. On the Volleyball front.. Last week Princess had two games.. Monday was away and they lost, Thursday was home and they WON..... and Princess played the best game of her life... it was WONDERFUL... and I didn't have the video or snap camera with me.. :(

And before I post this... I just saw that this post will be my 805th post.. WOW have I really typed out 805 post.. crazy.. but fun..

Weekend Recap (july25-27,2008)

WOW do I miss having a computer. I'm typing this post today from my mom's computer while at her house. Without having my computer I feel like i want to give you all a whole week recap.. but I'll stop myself and only do the weekend.

This week has been VBS or as they were calling it Day Camp seeing how it was an all day event. starting at 8:45am and ending at 2pm though I don't think we ever got out of there any earlier then 2:25pm So Friday morning I took the kids to VBS and then cleaned house a bit and then picked them up. After picking them up we went right to my mom's house and went swimming and Mr Man's friend A who went to church with him all week came swimming with us also. Then I cooked them all a dinner of hot dogs, you know very healthy stuff and all. Then we went back to the church for the closing carnival, where the kids had a blast and Mr Man won himself a fish. Here is a slide show picture #2-5 were pictures I took with my cell phone of pictures that were hanging on the wall at the church that they took though out the week at VBS. the rest of them I took Friday night at the closing carnival.

Saturday  in the morning we cleaned up around the yard and I did some laundry made lunch and then cleaned up the kitchen.  Around 3pm Mr Man and Sweet Pea went to my grandmas house and DH, Princess, Little Man and I went to a softball game.  Princess had been asked to fill in for a player that got hurt so we drove an hour and ten minutes and she filled in.  It was a heart breaker of a game also, going extra innings and they ended up losing by one run. 

After the game we drove back home and took Princess to a party that some 8th graders were having and she was the only 7th grader invited.. She had a load of fun, we know the parents of the girls having the party.. It was her league softball team from our town coaches daughters who were having the party. After dropping her off I picked up the other two kids and put them to bed gave Little Man a bath and got him to bed.. and DH and I ate dinner about 10pm and then i took off to pick up Princess at 11pm.. She came home took a bath and I think was in bed about midnight and I was in bed about 12:30am
When I woke up in morning.. this is what the other side of my bed looked like.
Sweet Pea and Little Man both had climbed into bed with us and was sleeping right up ageist DH.
Sunday we all went to Sunday school and church and then over to my moms for lunch. My sister and her family are in town from TX here are a few pictures from that..

We ate lunch Little Man and my niece Little E, exchanged there birthday gifts.(both of there birthdays were in May but since we knew we would see each other we waited and saved the shipping cost) and then the kids went swimming.. I'll have pictures of that later.. because they are still out there swimming.. I figured since there was a computer at moms I would do a quick weekend recap for you all.. I know my computer will still be down all of this week.. so I'm sorry if I don't get around to reading yours.. it just some how feels wrong to be up on the computer when I should be visiting with my sister.. but for a few minutes I thought it wouldn't kill anyone but now that I have this all typed out I think I need to go and visit..
