Way Back Wednesday(2/21/07)

There was a little break but Way back Wednesday is back. The Kept Woman left her home of snow and cheese and took a trip to TX. She is not happy to be back in the cold. So she wants to see us in some not so happy moments. here what she is looking for "...let's see those pictures of you showing your anger or perhaps a 747 landing on that big pouty lip!"

I have 3 shots i can show. the 1st one was in November 1972 I was a week old.

The 2nd was about 8 months later July 1973and the last one I was 1976 I think. I was about 5 1/2 years old. This was at my church but not just for a normal church service, we were there for a wedding. NOT just any wedding, it was the wedding my sister(remember that baby) was the flower girl in. Guess who was getting all the attention.. well you know it wasn't me.. I think they took 2 pictures of me that whole day and like 100 of her well not really this was before digital so it was more like 20. So there you have it my pouty lip and fits for this weeks Way Back Wednesday.

we're looking for pictures and the accompanying stories of traumatic events...you know, the top of an ice cream cone falling off, someone throwing up on your favorite shoes, etc...
the really deep stuff...

I tried hard to think of a photo of me in a traumatic event but I couldn't come up with anything. I didn't get a chance to call my mom to see if she could think of a photo she might have had, so I changed my thinking to pictures I have of my kids.




These were photos of Sweet Pea's 1st pee pee in the potty. When she is older and sees I have shared these with the world she might need therapy LOL.
She was exactly 18 months old these were taken 7/29/03
Looks like I'm falling a bit behind on the potty training thing seeing how Little Man is now 20 months old and I haven't even showed him a potty chair.

Way Back Wednesday(show us the snow)

"Do you know the street value of this mountain?"...snow...we're looking for pictures of snow...white, crystallized water, frozen...not THAT kind of snow, the stuff that you ski on or shovel...
TKW wants to see our old shots of snow.
What a great week to do snow photos. You see I HAVE SNOW. I wanted snow so bad in Dec but NO we had a green Christmas. Yesterday it snowed, we got our 1st ground cover snow,its pretty but I don't want it now, I wanted it at Christmas. Oh well on to old snow.

This is me in the snow either Dec 1974 or Early 1975 in either case I was 2 years old and "that baby" LOL my sister was already born(November 1974)

In the bottom pic is another one of those snow drawling my parents "made for me" See I was riding on a snow horse that is my mom holding me up.

"Ah-ha!!!"...it could be argued that I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer to which I have no rebuttal but I was looking at a picture I've seen a zillion times and noticed something new about it. Hence, the "Ah-ha!", so we're looking for pictures with something that didn't catch your att'n the 1st time around.

That is what TKW had for us for this Wednesday. I couldn't think of a single picture and I have gone though my moms photo albums 100's of times so normally when TKW tells us what to look for I have a photo pop into my head and i can go to my moms and get the photo or I can call her tell her what i'm looking for and she can email it to me, but not this week. I figured Oh well i can play next week. Then as i was sorting though the photos i had stored over the last month into my computer(clearing them out cuz my puter is running way to slow these days) I came across this pic and it was the "Ah ha!!!" that The Kept Women was talking about.. I found something in it that I never saw before.

Here all these years I thought this was a happy christmas pic of me and my baby sister under the christmas tree. Now after looking at it I don't think it was all that happy for me and I wonder if i was even to be part of this pic LOL. NOW it looks to me as if they had set my sister up under the tree to get a shot of the new baby under the tree only I saw that, THAT BABY had my bear and I was crawling under the tree to get MY bear back. How dear that new kid living at my house get that close to MY bear.

There ya have it what i missed the 1st time(or 1st 100 times) around. :)

Here is what TKW had for us this week
Sleeping: the holidays bring out the urge to strangle stupid people and take a nap in me (Fa la la la la)...the first theme might incriminate some of you so let us sleep...calling all pictures of sleeping beauties...


This top photo is of me and my dad and my teddy bear, i guess i wouldn't sleep without the bear for the 1st two years of my life. from the looks of me I wouldn't say i was any older then 6 months old so I'm guessing this was in early 1973(i was born 11/9/1972)

This last one is of me and my grandma(my dad's mom) Christmas 1975 I was 3 years old. You can't make it out very well but that is holly hobby on my nightgown.

Way Back Wednesday

WOW I almost forgot about WBW today.. bad bad me.. but I spent most of my day trying to christmas shop.. so forgive me will ya? :)?

This week The Kept Women had this assingment for us.

REject Christmas Card Attempts- My dad felt the need to keep the 28 photos it took to get The One that we would use...let's see all those less than desireable family shots.

Once again i didn't get into my moms photo albums so my WBW are coming from my old albums.

This 1st one was Christmas of 2002, it was Sweet Pea's 1st christmas.. I thought how cool would it be to do the kids with santa as the christmas card pic.. ONLY Sweet Pea wasn't too found of Santa.

In this shot Shot Princess was a month away from turning 7 years old, she was a 1st grader(pretty much the same age Mr man is now) Mr Man had just turned 3 years old a few weeks befor the trip to see Santa, and Sweet Pea was 10 1/2 months old.

jump forward one year.. and as you can tell not a one of them were too thrilled.. It was at this point I stopped trying for the christmas card shot with santa LOL.. I still take them and i still get pics with santa but I gave up getting them dressed up and trying for the perfect shot.

Dec 2003, Princess was a month away from turning 8 years old.. LOOK at her eyes.. this was the year she learned the truth about santa, but mommy made her get the pic anyways, you know trying to get the perfect card photo. Mr Man had just turned 4 years old and Sweet Pea was 22 1/2 months old.

BTW.. I have never got a pic with santa yet that Sweet Pea isn't crying in.. Shoot last year she started crying while standing in line waiting, so she wasn't even in the photo.

We haven't seen santa yet this year. BUT she told me she would go and get a picture with him, IF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Princess did too. LOL.. Thankfully Princess is willing to play along and said she would, So i might get a group shot of the 4 of them with santa this year..

BUT it's not my card shot... Starting in 2003, I started doing my card shot infront of our fireplace :)

WBW(11/29/06)

This week for Way Back Wednesday The Kept Women had this for us.
It's just nature...primal if you will. Even the animals do it. NO, not that...the process of beautification. Walk us through your beauty rituals as you primp...shaving? brushing hair? putting on lipstick?




This wasn't extreamly way back.. I knew if i was at my parents house i would have been able to find some good ones with me blow drying my hair or doing make-up but I haven't been there and mom has been busy from just getting home from there trip tha she didn't have time to go though the photo albums for me.. I did have this lovely pic of me getting ready to leave the house, here in my albums. This was 2 or 3 years ago. I'm thinking it was around Feb or March of 2003 but it might have been 2004 i just dont remember.

Way Back Wednesday, Halloween style

This week The Kept Women had this for us,""Show me your Halloween costumes of the past," So that is what I did.

This lovely pic is of my, sister, me and my brother back in 1984, i'm the old women in the center, i was days away from turning 12 years old


These next two shots was halloween 1982, it was mine and my sister early birthday party, I was turning 10 and she was turning 8, I was strawberry shortcake that year.

going back in time a bit more Halloween 1978. This was my kindergarden year.
Not only did I wear this trick or treating, I also wore this to the school party. I remember so well what a pain it was to get this box on and off the bus when I was just a tiny little thing LOL

Going back in time a bit more we take you to 1976 I was about to turn 4 years old and my little sister there in the lion costume was about to be 2. When I was about to turn 2 years old I wore the same lion costume, my mom took me out trick or treating that night and went into labour, I woke up the next morning with candy and a new sister.

The Last one of the day is from 1975, me as casper along with my grandma(dad's mom) I was just about to turn 3 years old.

Way Back Wednesday 10/11/06

This week The Kept Women had this for us for WayBackWed. Autumnal Bliss! Calling all pictures of pumpkins, scarecrows, hay and leaves!

I went a little over board this week, but who cares(right you don't mind really do you?LOL) I was having fun.

This 1st shot is really hard to see it was taken in the Fall of 1979. I was about 6 years old, I'm the one standing, my sister was 4 year old and my brother was 1 years old. Well seeing how mine and my sisters birthday are in Nov i'm guessing we were closer to 7, 5 and my brother about 17 or 18 months.

These next two shots were either Oct 31 or the first few days of Novemeber 1984
I couldn't find a real pumkin shot so i'm useing these because my mom made our birthday cake a pumkin this year. My birthday is Nov. 9, 1972 but my sister's was Nov. 1, 1974 So many years we had our party around halloween and we always did our party together.

The people in this top pic from L to R back row, My mom, her sister Aunt D aunt D's husband(uncle C) and my mom's mom my grandma mimi who died last year this month. Center Row L to R. My cousin KJ, My Brother L, and my other cousin D. and in the Front row me at my 12th b-day party and my sister at her 10 year party.
Don't you just love those big glasses i'm supporting in these pics, LOL what was my parents and I thinking LOL. OH Man i just thought of something even better then my hair cut and my glasses OH ME.. you see the matching shirts we have on, well they were part of our birthday gifts from my grandma(she also got my cousin KJ her shirt) and it just didn't come with the shirt, they came with matching leg warmers in the same lovely color of blue with the different color strips and the unicorns on them.. I was such a nerd, i though they were cool LOL.


Now to jump way head in time to Fall 2003 and a few shots of my babies.

Way Back Wednesday 10/4/06

This week TKW had this for us
I like your wheels man. We've seen the technology of the past, now how about some cars. Can't think of one? Look in other pictures to see if there's a car in the background.

I knew at my parents house there had to be a ton of pictures with me and cars in them I remember always standing infront of the car for a shot here and there so i called my mom and asked her to just pick which ever and send them over, theres are not the ones I had in mind but hey they work and I got to play WBW LOL so i'm happy.

This 1st one was May 1977 me and my sister before going to church I'm guessing maybe Easter because i know these were our easter dresses that year I was 4 1/2 years old and my sister was 2 1/2 years old

Skip ahead to March 1985, This was our vacation car us kids spent many many many a hour in this car fighting and driving my parents nuts. This was taken on a sunday morning before church I was 12, my sister there in the center was 10 and my brother was just about 7 years old.

Jump up five years to May 1990 and my Jr Prom. This car wasn't mine at the time but 4 years later when DH and I married it became my car and we had it till it died in 1998. this was me and my DH I was 17 years old

Now this little car was mine, It was the car i had in college don't remember the year of the car but it was a dayton and the only car I have ever had that was a stick. WEll at the end of Aug 1994 some little 16 year old rammed me in the backend, I was stopped waiting to make a left hand turn and this little goof was going 65 in a 25 zone(he just got out of school for the day and had a car full of 15 and 16 year old with him messing around) this is what it did to the car and the next pic is what it did to me.

I still get pains in my neck from this from time to time. btw i was 21 1/2 years old and just 2 months away from my wedding.

So there ya go I showed you my wheels.. I now drive a 1996 dodge grand caravan.. LOL.. I do love my van though but I think i'm in need of a new one seeing how this one is getting up there in years and miles.

Way Back Wednesday 9/20/2006

This week The Kept Women has us riding rollercosters and paying way to much for food. here is what we were to do. Amusement Parks: roller coasters, games, carnies, what could be more fun? If you don't have an amusment park shot how about a fair or festival picture?

Once again i didn't go to far back just 2 years back. On Sept 19, 2004 DH had his company picnic at six flags. Princess and Mr Man had a soccer game that morning but afterwards we head right over to the picnic for some good food and fun.

Here is Sweet Pea just 2 1/2 years old at the time and Mr Man 4 1/2 years old at the time riding on what ever this ride is called think it is the hopper or soemthing like that.

The Pic below is me getting ready to puke all over the place. Sweet pea really wanted to ride this ride but couldn't without a parent being that she was still too small for it. So me being the fun mom said don't you worry baby mommy will take you. Little did mommy know she was PG with little man, found that out like a week later. I thought there might be a chance but all the little home PG test i took kept saying NO a week after getting myself sick on all these silly rides I got that positve test.

the last one is Mr Man and Princess going at the speed i was trying to avoid.

Way Back Wed. (9/6/06)

This week TKW had this for us. Early 1990s fashion...since we are being hosed into thinking the 80s are cool again let's head off the fashion industry at the pass and recall all those fabulous early 90s trends

Man if I was only at my mom I could have played this up really good ~sigh~ but I'm not so this is the pic I have online. Me in my high School volleyball uniform. This is Fall 1990 I was 17 almost 18 years old.
